Meet Shroomie!

Meet Shroomie!

He has to wash his belly somehow!

Shroomie is my most favorite puddin' boy! Shroomie came to live with us over 5 years ago. He was a show cat in his youth and then used as a stud. When he was 9 years old, his former parents found out he was diabetic and abandoned him at the vet's office. Shroomie lived at the vet's for several months before I met him. He was 8lbs (normally 11+) and had lackluster fur and was generally very sick looking. When I met him, he immediately licked my hand and started purring. How could I say 'no' to that? I figured he was so sick, that I would be taking him home to die. Little did I know what he had in store for me!

I got him home, and in a stable environment, and he came off insulin within a month. He stayed nondiabetic for a couple of years. His fur grew back in and he gained back up to his 12 lbs. He was (and is) the most gorgeous boy in the world (Ok, so maybe I'm a little biased!). He did end up becoming diabetic again, but we expected that. I give him 2 shots a day of Iletin Lente. He is a good boy and doesn't mind his shots (as long as there is a bag of treats in sight!). Shroomie is now 13 years old, and is still his meowmie's favorite sweetheart. I can't imagine life without Shroomie.
