ASSIGNMENT NO.6
One of the marvels of the WWW is the quick access to a wealth of
information. Throughout the semester you have been exposed to several sources of information pertaining to weather and other sources linked on Good's Home Page under Weather and Climate. For Assignment #6 assume that you need quick information on WEATHER. Assume that you may be a business traveler, a vacationer, a student doing a research paper on some aspect of weather, a farmer, a teacher preparing a lesson plan, a travel agent, a diplomat, planning an outdoor event, a Peace Corps volunteer, a newspaper reporter, an outdoor recreation plan, manager of a summer camp, manager of a ski resort, meteorologist for a state highway department, a pilot, a psychology major doing a paper on weather and the state of mind, a history major preparing a paper on effects of weather on battles, a military
officer, or whatever position you want to assume.
Tell what your assumed position is or what topics you want to search and find five (5) really good sites on weather that pertain to your position.
Be sure to looks at some of the weather links on Good's Home Page as a starter. Find five (5) sites and do the following for each site:
1. Identify site with http # and title.
2. Summarize the site in some detail.
3. How good was the site in providing information you need.
4. Would you recommend this site to other persons in a similar position.
Use a rating scale of 1=Outstanding, a must see 2=Very Good, well above average; 3=Helpful, functional; 4=Would seldom use, nothing special; 5=Wouldn't recommend under any circumstances. Be sure to explain why good, bad, or whatever using great critical analysis and thinking skills. (Don't
just put down a number)
