The Rev. Dr. Steven Chien-Hsin Cho was born in Taiwan and
adopted the name "Steven" while in Tamkang High School given
by Canadian Presbyterian Missionary; Coming from a Christian home
{his father, an elder in the Presbyterian Church),
he dedicated his life to Christ early in life.
Dr. Cho, whom many of us know better as Steven, was graduated
and received his Bachelor of Divinity degree from Taiwan
Theological College in 1967.
He came to Canada in 1969, following two years of work
for the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan as a pastor to a small
congregation and as assistant chaplain to Tamkang High School.
He received his Master of Divinity degree in 1971 and the
following year completed Studies for his Master of Theology degree,
both degrees conferred by Acadia University;
Dr. Cho was ordained in 1973 and was for five years the pastor
of a three-point charge (Blue Mountain, Garden of Eden
and East River St. Mary's) in Pictou County, Nova Scotia.
He was called and began his pastorate in St. Stephen's
and St. Georges Pastoral Charge on October 31,1977.
Dr. Cho is past Moderator of the Presbytery of Saint John
and is presently (1994) a member of the Board of Directors
of the New Brunswick Pastoral Institute.
Steven and Joan have three children.
They are Dickson Li-Ming, Johannes Weh-Ming and Denise Su-li.
