Born in Watertown, Massachusetts, December 22, 1915,
a son of Malcolm Alexander MacNaughton and
Bessie Amanda (Garby) MacNaughton. Lee moved to Black River,
New Brunswick and later to Chatham, N.B.
He graduated from Chatham High School and attended
Teachers College in Truro.
After graduation he taught school in Portree, Inverness County;
North River, Lunenburg County; and Lake Ainslie, Cape Breton.
He enlisted in the Halifax Rifles in July, 1940, which became
an Armored Regiment in 1942. Went overseas in 1943 -stationed
at Worthing, New Milton, near Bournemouth; and Blackdown,
near Aldershot,England. The last year and one-half overseas,
he was with Canadian Army Educational Services. Returning to
Canada in December, 1945, he attended the pre-matticulation
centre in Pictou and entered Dalhousie University in the
fall of 1946. While there was active in Inter- Varsity
Christian Fellowship. He graduated with a B.A. degree in May,1950.
Attended Knox College, Toronto, for first year Theology,
and Presbyterian College, Montreal, for the second and
third years. Graduated in April, 1953.
As a sudent minister served summers in Sussex and Hampton,
New Brunswick; New Carlisle, Quebec; Wallace, N.S.; Dinsmore,
Saskatchewan; and Belfast, P.E.I.
Since ordination in Knox Church, Halifax, served three years
at Marshfield, Prince Edward Island, six and one-half years
at Tyne Valley, P;E.I., over ten years at Scotsburn, N.S.,
six years at Middle River, Cape Breton; coming to the
Blue Mountain Pastoral Charge in September, 1978.
Martied at Tyne Valley Presbyterian Church in June, 1956,
by the Rev.Lawrence Blaikie, to Margaret Rose
of St. Andrew's, P;E.I. They have three children,
Faith (Mrs Vincent Coldwell), Lawrence and Carol.
He retired from Blue Mountain Pastoral Charge in June, 1988.
