Mr. Dewar was born and brought up in Marshy Hope,
Pictou Co., N .S. After completion of Grade XI,
he worked for a time with Eastern Car Co., Trenton.
He studied Grade XII at New Glasgow High School
and then proceeded to Acadia University, Wolfville, N.S.,
where he received the Bachelor of Arts Degree.
He then began studies at Presbyterian College, Montreal.
During his course of studies, he has served the Church
in the Chaplaincy of the Armed Forces at Montreal;
Camp Borden, Ont.; Chilliwack, B.C.,
and in the congregations of Gairloch, Hopewell, Blue Mountain,
River John- Toney River and since 1967
in the Springhill-Oxford-Riverview pastoral charge.
In September, 1971, Mr. Dewar returned to Montreal
to study at the Faculty of Religious Studies at McGill,
graduating in May, 1972.
In 1958, he chose as his helpmate Marjorie (MacKenzie)
of Hopewell, N.S. They have been blessed with two sons,
Chester and Eoin. After July Ist, the Dewars will be
residing at Springville, N.S., where Mr. Dewar has accepted
an appointment to serve the Church.

Mr. and Mrs Dewar have two sons, Chester and Eoin.
Eoin is married to Elizabeth Green, East River St. Mary's.
They have two children Eli and Jessica.
Mr. Dewar preached here from 1956-1957.
He died on May 27, 1993.
