THIS IS MY NONA!!! She's going to be 90 years old in May. She is so wonderful! She has lived
in Argentina while I was growing up, but I remember she came to visit us. She was hiding behind our living room TV when I came home from school. Both my Grandmothers were at my house when I came home from school - it was Nona Heaven. I can tell you I ate well that day.
My mom told me that when she was a child she attempted to remove a mole from her mother's leg by creating a suction. She placed alcohol in a glass, lit it on fire and placed it against by Nona's leg. What she didn't realize was that without creating a vacuum the alcohol would run down her leg on fire. My poor Nona - my mother was a devil child, and I'm just carrying on the tradition! |
