George James was the first born son of Michael Doherty. Born on November 1, 1888. He served in World War 1. After serving his country he returned to Hattiesburg and worked as a molder at a foundry. He married to Beulah Mae Williams on May 4, 1928. He went to work for the United States Postal Service in Hattiesburg after he married. George and Beulah parented 5 children.
