Up at the mine, Julian and Ivy show up, and Luis almost attacks Julian. Sam pulls Luis away from him and promises that they will deal with him later. When Sheridan blasts Julian for endangering Miguel and the others, Julian wonders if Sheridan has fallen for Luis again. Meanwhile, Pierre continues to push Hank to kill Sheridan by pushing her over the edge of the mineshaft. Elsewhere, Whitney tries to stop Chad from climbing down the mineshaft. Chad says nobody cares about him anyways, but Whitney says there is one person who cares for him. Chad asks her who? Down in the mine, Miguel and Kay argue over whether Charity is evil or not. Elsewhere, Timmy tries to keep the box from opening. Grace's powers are causing it to open as she keeps mumbling that the box must open or they will all die. Evil Charity decides to take care of her, and she causes an earthquake. The quake causes some beams to fall in the mine, and Kay and Miguel are separated. Kay ends up backing up through an illusionary wall and into a mysterious cave where she meets Hecuba.
Back on solid ground up above, the earthquake causes boulders to start rolling and flying around. Ivy is almost killed, but Sam manages to save her. Hank almost succeeds in pushing Sheridan into the mine, but Luis saves her in time. TC is hit by a boulder, and as Chad goes to save him from falling into the mine, he falls in himself. A huge boulder rolls into the mine and almost lands on Tabitha and Timmy. Sam and Luis work to save Chad, who is unconscious and on a ledge, but about to fall off. Meanwhile, Julian gets a slap from Ivy for not coming to her rescue, but he says Sam was there to save her as usual. As he wonders why Sam always is there to save her, Grace approaches them and says she thinks she knows why. Back down in the mine, Evil Charity decides to use the boulder that landed down there to kill Miguel. She causes it rolling down a tunnel, and it heads straight for a trapped Miguel!
Ethan tries to find Theresa, but she continues to run away from him. Ethan manages to grab Theresa, who yells at him that she can't take the pain anymore. She tells him that if he wants Gwen he should have her because she doesn't care. She then breaks down in his arms, crying that she doesn't know how she will ever live without him. Ethan tells Theresa that he loves both her and Gwen. Theresa tells him that love doesn't mean the same thing to him as it does to her, she could never love two women. She also doesn't understand how he can be with Gwen. Ethan tells her that what he saw wasn't what it seemed, Rebecca set her up again. Ethan says Gwen was kissing him, not the other way around. Ethan explains what happened, but Theresa says it looked to her like they were going to make love. Ethan swears that he told Gwen that he wouldn't make love to her. Theresa believes Ethan, but she says it still hurt to see them together. Theresa asks Ethan if he is sorry that he canceled the wedding? Ethan says no, he couldn't marry Gwen when he loved her too. Ethan apologizes to Theresa once again, and assures her that he still loves her. Ethan promises that they will resolve this somehow. Theresa says that there is only one way to solve this dilemma, someone has to get married. Ethan tells Theresa that she is right.
Up at the ruins, Julian wonders why Sam is always around when his accident prone wife needs to be rescued. Grace approaches Julian and says she's been thinking a lot about that, and she thinks she has an answer. Grace says that Sam cares about everyone he is sworn to protect, and that makes him the best Chief of Police Harmony has ever had. Grace walks off, and Julian leaves to make sure nobody does anything that he can be sued for. Eve tells Ivy that was too close, Grace almost caught her. She warns Ivy to stay away from Sam because he'll never leave Grace for her.
By the mine entrance, Sam and TC work to try and save Chad, who is has fallen into the mine. He is unconscious and stuck on a small ledge. Chad begins to wake up, and unfortunately he begins to move! TC fears he's going to roll right off the edge. Whitney screams at him. Grace shows up, and Sam tells her that as soon as Luis shows up with the rope, he'll go down and rescue Chad. Chad manages to stop moving, and Whitney thanks God. Meanwhile, Hank is about to "accidentally" bump Sheridan into the mine by backing into her, but Luis shows up and yells at Hank to stop. Sheridan quickly turns around and says she didn't see Hank behind her. Hank also says he didn't notice Sheridan. Hank goes to see what is going on with Chad, and Luis gives Sheridan a kiss. Luis then takes the rope over to Sam. Eve asks Sheridan if her and Luis' relationship has changed? Sheridan says it has changed, and she thanks Eve for helping them out. Back by the mine, Luis ties the rope around Sam so he can propel down the side of the mine and reach Chad. When Evil Charity starts another cave in, Sam begins to swing, and Chad is placed in more danger. Ivy and Grace both cry for Sam, but Pilar grabs Ivy and tells her that she must not let her feelings for Sam show. The rope eventually stops swinging, so Sam makes an attempt to save Chad. Unfortunately, as he goes to rescue Chad, the rope slips, and Sam falls! The others above manage to grab the rope. As Sam goes to reach for Chad, the ledge Chad is on begins to give way!
In the mine, Evil Charity decides to kill Miguel by rolling the boulder down the tunnel where he is trapped. After she sets the boulder rolling, she decides to take care of Timmy and Tabitha. Her hands glow red, and she begins to zap them with laser beams. Timmy sees his eyes flash before his eyes to a tune by the Carpenters. Charity tells them "buh-bye" and prepares to fire off a death ray. However, her red hot hand turns ice cold when she realizes Miguel hasn't died. Evil Charity then shoots lighting to cause another cave it. Miguel escapes Evil Charity, and suddenly she hears Hecuba cackling. Tabitha says that she knows how Miguel has survived, he has found Hecuba's cave! Evil Charity says "Noooo, not her!" and says they have to find them right now! Evil Charity, Tabitha, and Timmy all search for Hecuba's cave, but they can't find it. Evil Charity tells Tabitha to hurry up and find it or they will all die! They manage to find the cave entrance and sneak inside.
In the tunnel, Miguel sees the large boulder headed straight for him and realizes he is trapped! Fortunately, Miguel finds a crevice to duck into and avoids the boulder. Unfortunately, Evil Charity's cave in causes the mine to begin to collapse around Miguel! Miguel runs for it, and the beams begin to collapse right behind him. As Miguel runs, he runs right into Hecuba's cave! Timmy asks Tabitha who Hecuba is? Tabitha says she is a powerful witch who lived hundreds of years ago and her cave contains powers that could be used against them.
Kay has made her way to Hecuba's cave and meets Hecuba. Hecuba tells Kay that she has been waiting for her for such a long long time. Kay asks her why? Hecuba tells her "So I can give you everything you've ever wanted!" Kay tries to convince herself that none of this is real, it is just a dream. Hecuba shows Kay her treasures, but knows these are not what her heart yearns for. Hecuba tells Kay that she will give her her hearts desire. Kay asks her what she knows about her? Hecuba tells Kay Bennett that she'd be surprised what she knows. She tells Kay to follow her because she's about to get everything she's ever dreamed of. Kay takes Hecuba's hand, and Hecuba leads her to another room. Kay thinks this place is a bomb shelter, but Hecuba says she didn't come down her because of the cold war. Hebuca tells Kay that she knows what her heart desires, it desires Miguel! Kay thinks she must be psychic, and asks her to tell her more. Hecuba says that he would be hers if Charity hasn't shown up. Kay says that is right, and Tabitha tells her the same thing. Hecuba says she knows who Tabitha is, and she'll be paying her a visit soon as well. Hecuba shows Kay her magic mirror, and Kay looks into it and her reflection vanishes! Soon, Kay sees herself kissing Miguel in bed! Kay says this is what she's always dreamed of, and it seems so real! Kay wishes Miguel were here to see this. Hecuba tells her that he will be! Kay asks Hecuba who she is? Hecuba introduces herself and tells Kay that she will receive everything she's ever wanted! Suddenly, Miguel falls through the wall and into the cave! Kay goes to introduce Miguel to Hecuba, but she has vanished! Kay takes Miguel to the magic mirror, but he tells her that whatever is going on they don't have time for this because they must find Charity. Kay once again tries to convince Miguel that Charity is evil, but he thinks she is delusional. Kay asks Miguel to at least look in the mirror, so he does. When he looks into the mirror, he sees Evil Charity trying to kill him while Kay sees herself with Miguel. Hecuba watches them and says things are going to get interesting, she's about to have three more visitors! Evil Charity, Tabitha, and Timmy show up, and Evil Charity raises her hands to strike down Miguel.
On the patio, Theresa tells Ethan that the only way to resolve this problem is with a wedding, someone must get married. Ethan tells her that she is right, this must be resolved tonight. Ethan tells Theresa that all of them will sit down and talk this out. Theresa is disappointed because she was so sure that Ethan had understood her and had decided to marry her. Ethan apologizes for misleading her, and he suggests she wait in the living room while he goes up and gets Gwen.
Ethan goes to talk to Gwen, who refuses to talk to Theresa. Ethan tells Gwen that they have to sit down and resolve this tonight. Rebecca tells Gwen to do ask Ethan asks, but Gwen refuses to. Ethan tells Gwen that if she does not come downstairs then he will take it to mean that she no longer wants to be a part of his life. Ethan leaves, and Rebecca urges Gwen to get dressed and go see Ethan. However, Gwen refuses to have a sit-down with Theresa. Rebecca tells Gwen that if she doesn't go down there and face that witch, then she will lose Ethan! Gwen says "But I hate her!" Rebecca says she knows that, and so does Theresa. Rebecca tells her that Theresa will expect her to come down swinging, but she should be the exact opposite, cool and calm. Rebecca asks Gwen to trust her, once she is married to Ethan, then she will be able to get revenge on Theresa.
In the living room, Ethan and Theresa wait for Gwen. Ethan notices that Theresa is trembling, so he tells her to sit down and take a deep breath. Theresa tells Ethan that she can't help but be nervous, either all of her dreams are about to come true, or they are over. Theresa realizes that this is the first time she's been in this house not as an employee, but as a woman he loves. She says that no matter what happens tonight, she will always be able to say at least she got this far.
In Hecuba's cave, Miguel and Kay are both captivated by the images they see in the mirror. Suddenly, Evil Charity, Tabitha, and Timmy show up in the cave, and Evil Charity prepares to zap Miguel and Kay. Hecuba says it isn't time for Kay and Miguel to die, so she waves her hand and closes the door to her cave, sealing Evil Charity, Tabitha, and Timmy outside. Evil Charity asks what in the hell just happened? She opens the door again, only to be greeted by bats! The cave is empty, and Evil Charity is furious. Hecuba laughs at them, which only further infuriates Evil Charity. Evil Charity uses her powers to locate the door, which Hecuba hid, and they re-enter the cave. Meanwhile, Kay asks Miguel if what they are seeing could really happen? Miguel hopes not because Charity is trying to kill him! Hecuba drinks some wine and says that her mirror has many faces! Kay says that is not what she sees, and perhaps the mirror is showing them different things. Hecuba, who cannot be seen by them, says "different things indeed," and then she sets a crystal down on the floor. Miguel tells Kay that they have to get out of here and they should leave everything the way they found it. He hopes that once they are safe someone will come back here and explain all of this. As Miguel looks for a way out, Kay picks up the crystal Hecuba set on the ground and looks at it. Kay takes the crystal, which is exactly what Hecuba wanted. After Miguel and Kay leave, Evil Charity, Tabitha, and Timmy return. Hecuba welcome Tabitha and tells her that she's waited over three hundred years for this! Tabitha can't believe her eyes, and Evil Charity tells Hecuba that she's going to pay for keeping them from Kay and Miguel. Evil Charity begins to shoot lighting bolts at Hecuba, who is sitting on her thrown and looking into a mirror. Hecuba tells Evil Charity that is a nice trick, but it won't work in her house! She waves her hand, and puts out the lightening. Tabitha tells Hecuba that it is so nice to see her, but Hecuba tells Tabitha not to act like they are old friends when they've hated one another since they were little tykes. Timmy wonders why every witch they meet seems to hate Tabitha? Hecuba reveals that Tabitha put a curse on her a hundred years ago and condemned her to live in this place. However, by doing so, Hecuba says her powers grew stronger, she knows all, including what is going on up on earth now, and in the future! She invites Tabitha and Timmy to look into her mirror. Timmy looks into the mirror and sees himself at a book signing with a sign behind him reading "Best Selling Author!" He's also being kissed by beautiful women! Tabitha looks into the mirror and sees herself as an old, grey woman! Evil Charity taunts her and tells her that the years don't treat her so well without her powers! Hecuba laughs at Tabitha and tells her that the future isn't pretty. Evil Charity wonders what the mirror can tell the demons inside of her, but Hecuba tells her "Nothing!" Hecuba tells Evil Charity that she will just have to wait and find out whether or not she succeeds in killing Miguel and bringing Charity over to the dark side when it happens, IF it happens. Hecuba says this has been fun, but she needs her beauty sleep. She tells Tabitha and her friend to come back in another three hundred years, and she zaps them back outside of her kay. Timmy tells Tabitha that Hecuba is good! Tabitha says she is just a show off, and she can do that trick if she gets her powers back. Evil charity tells Tabitha and Timmy to stop wasting time talking because they have to go kill Miguel.
In the mine, Sam reaches for Chad, but the ledge he is on begins to break away! Fortunately, Sam is able to grab Chad before he falls. Hank looks to the bushes and Pierre gives him a signal to kill Sheridan. However, Hank can't kill Sheridan because the rope holding Sam and Chad isn't strong enough, so everyone works to save the two of them. Luis manages to grab Sam's hand right before the rope breaks, and Sam and Chad are pulled to safety. Grace suggests Sam call in some backup, but Sam says he's okay. Sam thanks Hank and tells him that he's very proud of the man he's become, and dad would be proud of him to. Hank tells him not to say that because there is a lot about him that he doesn't know. Sam tells Hank that there is nothing he could do that would make him ashamed of him. Hank realizes there is something he has to do which will make Sam ashamed of him. Elsewhere, Eve states that she needs to examine Chad, so the boys help carry him away from the hole. Eve examines Chad and says he has a pretty nasty gash, and she asks Whitney to watch over him. SHe sees how Whitney is looking at Chad, and she hopes Whitney isn't falling for him. Whitney tells her mom that she isn't, she knows Chad is not the kind of guy she wants her involved with. Whitney continues to look at Chad and wonders what he is dreaming about. Chad dreams about telling TC and Eve that he loves Whitney and wants to be with her, but TC and Eve tell him that they don't want him near Whitney. When he asks Whitney what she wants, Whitney says she can't go against her parents' wishes. Suddenly, Chad blurts out that he loves Whitney, but they'll never be together. Whitney hears this and is moved to tears. Chad continues to say that he will always love her, and Whitney gives him a kiss.
Meanwhile, Grace and Pilar ask Sheridan if she would mind going and getting them some clean water, they don't want to leave the site in case there is any news on their loved ones. Sheridan says she doesn't mind going at all. Grace gives her some water containers and tells her that she can use the spring at the ruins of the original settlement. As she takes off, Hank follows her, determined to carry out Pierre's orders. Sheridan searches for the spring, and ends up bumping her head on a tree. Suddenly, the good spirits appear to Sheridan and warn her to beware because "they" want to kill her! The spirits tell her to run and seek safety! Sheridan recognizes the spirits of Grace, Sam, and Charity, but the spirits say they are the ancestors of those she knows. The spirits tell her that now that she has found Luis, they will kill her! Sheridan panics and ends up fainting.
Sam, TC, and Luis come up with a new plan to get down into the mine by lowering a bucket with a person in it down the shaft. When Sam says he's going to go down, Ivy blurts out "Sam, no!" Julian asks Ivy why she cares? Ivy says that Sam should risk his life again, he should be the one to get the shaft this time! Julian refuses, so Sam gives Grace a kiss goodbye and jumps into the little red bucket they have rigged up. Down in the mine, Evil Charity shoots beams at the bucket, causing it to break away, and TC grabs Sam before he can fall into the mine. They all wonder what they can do now, and Julian says he wishes there was a way Crane Industries could help. Sam thinks there is, and he says that Julian better come through unless he wants to spend the rest of his life in jail for negligence!
Miguel and Kay walk through the mine, and Kay ends up cutting her arm. Miguel rips off part of his shirt and bandages her cut up. She thanks him, and he tells her to remain strong. He swears that he won't let anything happen to his best friend. Miguel finds the tunnel that leads to the mineshaft, but Kay doesn't want to run into Charity again. Miguel says that they have to find her, and he's sure everything will be fine once they find her. Miguel finds Charity, and she gives Miguel an evil look. Kay warns Miguel to stay away because her eyes are glowing! Evil Charity pretends like she is fine, but Miguel says she does have a strange look in her eyes and asks her if she is okay? Evil Charity tells Miguel, in her evil voice, that she is just fine, and she will be even better after she kills him! Miguel can't believe it, the vision in the mirror is coming true! Evil Charity raises her hands, and Miguel just stands there with a stunned look on his face.
Up near the mine, Whitney gives Chad a kiss as he mumbles in his state of semi- consciousness that they'll never be together, but he'll always love her. Chad comes to, and asks Whitney why she pulled away, what is wrong? Whitney says she doesn't want to talk about this, but CHad does. Chad tells Whitney that he knows she has feelings for him, so why is she so afraid? Whitney says she is confused and doesn't want to talk about it. Chad asks if it is her parents? Whitney says it is not her parents, it is Tiffany. Whitney says she doesn't want to have anything to do with a man like him. Chad once again denies that he knows Tiffany, but Whitney doesn't believe him. Chad says that he could never run out on a kid after what happened to him. He says that whoever is telling Whitney these stories is lying to her. He begs her to listen to him, listen to her heart. Chad asks her if he really thinks he could do something like this? Whitney says it doesn't matter, he is fine now. She goes to walk away from Chad, but he yells at her to answer him. Whitney tells him that she doesn't know what to think, she used to think he was different. However, now Whitney says he is just like all other guys, he uses woman and throws them away. Chad tells Whitney not to run out on him, not to run out on her feelings. He says that she is being lied to, and he knows she feels the same way about him that he feels about her.
Near the mine entrance, Sam tells Julian that there is something Crane Industries can do to help, and if Julian doesn't come through than he'll spend the rest of his life in jail for criminal negligence! Julian asks what he wants him to do? Sam says he needs a construction crew and equipment, but Julian refuses to pull one of his crews off a construction site. Ivy chastises Julian, and Pilar begs Julian to help. However, Julian refuses to do what they are asking. Pilar asks Ivy if she can order a construction crew up here? Ivy says she can't, she has no power over them. Pilar asks her to beg Julian, but Ivy says it wouldn't do any good. However, she agrees to at least try. Ivy approaches Julian, who says he is going home to a martini. Ivy yells at Julian and asks him to do what Sam asks. Julian says that it is an impossible request. Sam overhears Julian, and says he didn't think anything was impossible for Julian Crane. Sam tells him that all he has to do is get on the phone and have his foreman bring a crew up here. Julian says they'd be on golden time, and Sam is furious when he realizes that Julian is willing to let innocents die over money. Luis lays into Julian, but TC tells Luis to back off and let Sam site Julian on the good samaritan's law. Sam decides to do just that, but Julian whines that if he pulls a crew off a site he could be sued. Sam says that people's lives are in danger because of his negligence and if anything happens to them then he will hold him responsible. Sam demands Julian call his foreman and order him up here, but Julian refuses. Julian says he does not take orders, he gives them! Furthermore, Sam is a public servant who is supposed to serve him! Sam says right now he is not a cop, he is a father who is trying to save his daughter and niece. Sam almost attacks Julian, but Luis stops him. Luis and Pilar beg Julian to do something good for once. Julian calls them all hypocrites, all they do is badmouth the Cranes, but when the chips are down they all come running to him for help. Julian refuses to help them.
Grace has another premonition and tells Eve that the children are all going to die! Eve tells Grace to calm down, she is just worried. Grace tells her that is more, the kids are in danger from something beyond them. Eve asks her what she means? Grace says she's not sure, she just knows that something evil is going to happen. Grace and Eve rejoin the others, and when she hears Julian refusing to help them, she is horrified. Grace begs Julian to please help them, and Ivy tells Julian that this is his chance to show everyone that he is a decent human being. Julian says if there was any other way to help then he would, but he can't do what Chief Bennett asks. Julian says this isn't his fault, it is their kids and that senior citizen's own fault for trespassing. As he says he hopes this serves as a wake-up call for everyone to be more careful, Julian ends up falling into the mine! Everyone is stunned, everyone but a smiling TC.
In the mine, Evil Charity raises her hands to kill Miguel and Kay. Miguel finally believes that Charity is evil, and he and Kay try and dodge Charity's lightening bolts. Evil Charity tells Miguel that it is no use, "we" are in control and they are going to die. Miguel asks who "we" are, and why she is doing this? Kay tells him that Charity is crazy and there is no use talking to her. Miguel tries to reason with Charity by telling her that he loves her. Charity begins to fight evil, and she screams "I won't let you hurt Miguel!" The demons regain control and say they won't let good win. TImmy roots for Good Charity, but Tabitha tells him to pipe down. Evil Charity tricks Miguel into thinking she is okay, and she promises him that she won't hurt him. Miguel approaches her, and promises to take care of her. He tells her that they will be out of here soon, he's sure of it. Suddenly, Evil Charity grabs Miguel by the throat and begins to choke him! Kay begs Charity to stop, and she asks Tabitha to help them. Tabitha tells Kay to help herself and yells "Death and destruction to all!" Evil Charity tosses Miguel across the mine, and when he gets back up, she prepares to finish him off. Good Charity returns and refuses to let them kill Miguel. The pendent glows off and on, and good and evil fight for control of Charity. Suddenly, Charity collapses, and the pendant blinks. Miguel wants to help Charity, but Kay tells him to leave her alone because something else is inside of Charity. Miguel refuses to leave Charity, but Kay tells him that if they don't leave now, Charity will just kill him! They walk away, and Evil Charity begs Miguel not to leave her. Miguel wants to go back for her, but Kay refuses to allow him to do so. They try and get a mine cart moving, but the brake is stuck. Evil Charity finds them and tells them to prepare to die! Fortunately Miguel gets the mine cart rolling, and he and Kay take off. Evil Charity yells that "they'll" still find them and kill them!
Pilar, Grace, and Ivy try to persuade Julian to call in a construction crew to help with the rescue, but Julian refuses. He begins to walk away when he suddenly falls through a sinkhole and into a mine shaft. Ivy acts distraught and uses the opportunity to throw herself at Sam.
Miguel and Kay hop into a mine cart and speed off down the tracks to escape Evil Charity. Kay and Miguel are horrified as the speeding cart heads right towards a disoriented Julian. Julian manages to move out of the way just in time and the cart finally comes to a stop. Miguel reluctantly admits Charity would have killed him if Kay hadn't convinced him to leave. Fearing they won't make it out alive, Kay makes a confession to Miguel: she's in love with him. Meanwhile, Julian comes face-to-face with Hecuba, the witch.
Theresa decides to tell Ethan he's not a Crane after he admits he does feel an obligation to his family to marry Gwen. Before Theresa can break the news to Ethan and Gwen, Pilar calls to update her daughter on the situation with Miguel. Pilar nearly faints when Theresa informs her mother of her plans. Theresa explains Ethan would definitely choose her if he didn't have any pressure from the Cranes. Pilar warns Theresa of Ivy's wrath � if Theresa reveals Ivy's secret, Ivy will make sure Theresa never ends up with Ethan. Despite her mother's wishes, Theresa still resolves to expose Ethan's true paternity. Meanwhile, Gwen and Rebecca wonder why Theresa is acting like she has a way to secure a future with Ethan.
