Sheridan and Hank agree they should tell Luis that Ethan called off his wedding to Gwen because he's in love with Theresa. Hank keeps quiet as Luis goes off about Ethan and the rest of the Cranes. Sheridan is touched when she overhears Luis admit he has strong feelings for her. However, Luis also expresses frustration at how Sheridan continues to believe he said he was using her. Luis decides to settle the matter once and for all. Hank gets a call from Pierre, who demands to meet with him right away.
From outside the Lopez-Fitzgerald house, Gwen spies on Ethan and Theresa as they kiss and revel in their love for one another. Gwen moves to the door, ready to kill Theresa. However, Rebecca calls Gwen on her cell phone and interrupts. Rebecca is furious to learn Theresa is still in town. Meanwhile, Theresa remains optimistic about her future with Ethan and confidently tells Pilar she will be Mrs. Ethan Crane by the end of the year. On the phone with Sheridan, Ethan confides he still doesn't know which woman he wants to be with. Later, Gwen swears she's going to kill Theresa after seeing her and Ethan kissing again.
In the mine, Kay watches and listens as Evil Charity talks to the angel. She wonders what is wrong with Charity's voice. Evil Charity tells the angel that it is time for her to surrender, they have won, and she and the big guy have lost. The angel girl tells Charity to fight the evil, but Evil Charity tells her that the number she has dialed is no longer in service, Charity has stepped out for all of eternity! As Evil Charity zaps the angel, Kay wonders what Charity is doing. Kay wishes Miguel was awake so he could see his sweet little girlfriend right now. The angel agrees to leave Evil Charity, but she says she will pray for her. The angel turns into a ball of light and flies out of the mineshaft. After the angel leaves, Evil Charity decides to kill Kay and Miguel. Kay begs Charity not to kill Miguel because he's never been anything but kind and loving.
Back up at the ruins, the angel appears to Tabitha and Timmy and tells them that thanks to Tabitha, Charity's pure soul has been lost to the darkside. She just hopes that she and Timmy don't have to pay for their mistakes. The angel girl vanishes, and Tabitha and Timmy run for it. Back in the mines, as Kay pleads with Charity not to kill them, Charity continues to murmur that "both of them must die." However, she wasn't referring to Kay and Miguel, she was referring to Tabitha and Timmy! Charity begins to hurl boulders out of the mineshaft and at Tabitha and Timmy! As Kay watches Evil Charity cast the boulders up out of the mineshaft, she grabs Miguel and drags him away from Charity! Fortunately, Tabitha and Timmy escape with their lives. Back in the mine, as Kay continues to drag Miguel away from Charity, we see that the magic box has been uncovered! Suddenly, Miguel's foot hits the box, and it is knocked open. A bright light begins to illuminate the room and shoots out of the mineshaft! Evil Charity exclaims "What in the hell?" and when Tabitha sees it she realizes the box has been opened!
At the cottage, Luis and Sheridan begin to kiss and feel there is no longer a reason they can't be together. They make their way to the bed, and when Sheridan says she should send a thank you note to the FBI, Luis realizes they can't do this. Luis says he can't protect her if they . . . . Luis says until the day he's no longer her body guard, he must act professional. Luis decides to go to bed, on the couch, and he tells Sheridan that he'll see her in the morning. Luis and Sheridan attempt to sleep, but neither one of them can. Luis begins to work out in an effort to keep his mind off Sheridan. Meanwhile, Sheridan decides to get some warm milk to help her sleep, and runs into a scantily clad Luis. Sheridan doesn't want to interrupt his workout, so she decides to go back to her room. She pauses to look at Luis once again, and he asks her if she wants something? Sheridan mumbles "Yes," but then quickly says no, she's fine. Luis laughs and says if someone told him a year ago that they'd be in this fix then he'd laugh. Sheridan and Luis take a trip down memory lane and think about the first time they met. As they think about one another, we hear the debut of Luis and Sheridan's new theme song, "Imagine" by Jane French. Luis and Sheridan once again give in and begin to kiss.
At the mansion, Ivy is in a nice silk robe and is pouring herself a drink when Julian walks in. Julian asks her if nasty secrets are keeping her awake? Ivy says she wouldn't have come down here if she knew he'd be home so soon. Julian and Ivy argue about Ethan's decision. Ivy blames Julian for thrusting Ethan in Theresa's direction. Julian points out that he advised Ethan to have a fling, not fall in love with the girl. Julian says that Ethan has done inestimable damage to Crane Industries by calling off this wedding. Still, Ivy believes that Theresa can be made to understand that she and Ethan have no future. Julian asks Ivy if she is hallucinating? He says that Theresa will never give up Ethan now that she has snared him. Julian tells Ivy that it doesn't matter anymore because of Rebecca's quick thinking in sending Theresa half-way around the world. Ivy asks "What if Ethan stops her?" Julian says that won't happen because he and Rebecca had Theresa's name removed from all the airline lists. Suddenly, Ethan walks in and informs his father that, despite his efforts, he managed to find Theresa in time and stop her. Julian says he only wanted what was best for him, but Ethan says that he is the only one who knows what is best for him. Ivy tells Ethan that he must understand why they are all upset, he has been in love with Gwen for as long as they've known. Ethan says he still does love Gwen, but he also loves Theresa. Ethan knows he did the right thing. Julian tells him that Gwen wasn't the only one affected by this, Crane Industries was as well. Ethan is furious with his father and says he doesn't care about stocks and bonds, this is about being true to one's self. Ivy asks Ethan if he honestly believes Theresa will make him happier in the long run than Gwen? Ethan says he doesn't know, but he needs time to figure that out. Julian doesn't understand why he couldn't have married Gwen and worked this out later. Ethan says he couldn't hurt Gwen like that, and in the morning he will talk this out with Gwen. Ethan thinks that it may take time, but Gwen will come around. Later, Ivy tries to talk some sense into Ethan by telling him if he gives up Gwen for Theresa, one day he will realize he's stuck serving a life sentence with someone who is so far beneath him. Suddenly, Rebecca shows up and tells Ethan that he won't get away with breaking her daughter's heart! Ethan tells her to stop it with the threats, and anymore talk will between him and Gwen. Ethan decides to call Gwen now instead of the morning. As he tries to call Gwen, Rebecca chuckles and tells Ivy and Julian that Gwen is at Theresa's giving her tit-for-tat. Ivy fears for Theresa and her family's safety. Rebecca says that before this night is over, Theresa will wish she'd never heard of Ethan Crane! Gwen never answers her phone, and Ethan doesn't blame her. Ethan decides to make a phone-call to Theresa, which upsets Rebecca, Julian, and Ivy. Ivy convinces Ethan that it is a tad late to be calling Pilar's house, so Ethan says goodnight to everyone. Ivy asks Rebecca what Gwen was going to say to Theresa? Rebecca says that Gwen didn't say exactly what she was going to do, but she is a hands-on kinda girl.
At the Lopez-Fitzgerald's house, Theresa answers the door and finds a very angry Gwen standing there holding a bat! Gwen walks into Theresa's house and reams out Theresa. Theresa says that she never wanted to hurt her, but Gwen tells her to shut up and starts smashing things with her bat! Gwen tells Theresa that she has ripped her heart out, so it is only fair that she rips hers out in return! A frightened Theresa calls for her mom, but Gwen says that it looks like mama can't hear her! Theresa says that she won't get away with this, her mother will be out of the shower in just a minute. Gwen is glad because she wants to have a chat with Pilar and see if her mother was right, has she been in on this the whole time too? Gwen asks Theresa if it was her idea or Pilar's for her to become Ivy's assistant so she could get the inside track on Ethan? Theresa says that isn't how it was at all, but Gwen refuses to believe a word that comes out of her lying, slutty mouth! WAM! Gwen hits another homer with her bat, shattering a vase. Gwen says that Ethan may buy this act that they just fell in love, but she knows better! Gwen says the game is over, and starts trying to kill Theresa with her bat! Theresa makes a run for it, but Gwen chases after her. They end up in Theresa's room, and Gwen continues to yell at Theresa. She says that this would be tragic if she hadn't pushed her and Ethan together oh so many times, and she wishes she had drowned at that near fatal prom. Gwen asks Theresa what was going through her head as she was designing her wedding dress, the bridesmaids hairstyles, every last detail of her wedding to Ethan! She stops Theresa from answering because she doesn't want to know the answer. Gwen demands Theresa call Ethan and tell him that she will never see him again. Theresa refuses, so Gwen says she leaves her no choice but to kill her! She says that Ethan will be sad at first, but his life will go on! Gwen begins swinging, and comes across Theresa's Ethan shrine, including pictures of Ethan from his college years as well as a picture of Theresa in her wedding dress. Gwen finally puts two and two together and realizes that the entire portfolio was for Theresa's wedding to Ethan, she just passed them off as her ideas for her (Gwen's) wedding to Ethan! Gwen says that she may have been good enough to take Ethan away from her, but she is not good enough to keep him! Gwen continues swinging at Theresa, and when Pilar comes in to stop her, Gwen shoves her into the closet! Theresa becomes furious and grabs the bat from Gwen. The two struggle over the bat, and Gwen's cell phone begins to ring. Theresa knows it is Ethan and tells Gwen to answer it, or doesn't she want Ethan to know that she's talking her and her mother! Theresa makes a dash for the phone, but Gwen tackles her because she refuses to let anyone learn that she was here! They begin to wrestle over the phone, and Theresa gets it away from Gwen and yells at Ethan that Gwen is trying to kill her! However, Gwen has the battery, so she doubts Ethan can hear her. Gwen grabs her bat again and tells Theresa that she should have just gotten pregnant and run off with Ethan instead of telling her the truth. She asks Theresa if she's slept with Ethan yet? Theresa says no, and Gwen says that is mistake number 436, because she'll never know how fun it would have been. Pilar, from the closet, threatens to kill Gwen if she lays a hand on her daughter. Gwen asks Theresa to shut her mother up because she's giving her a headache! Theresa asks Gwen to think about what she's about to do, does she want to spend the rest of her life in prison? Gwen doubts it would come to that, her family would make sure she never spends a night in jail. Theresa ducks as Gwen swings at her, and then Theresa tackles Gwen. Unfortunately, Gwen gets her hands around Theresa's neck and begins to choke her! Gwen tells Theresa, as she is choking the life out of her, that "life's a bitch!"
On the docks, Pierre tells Hank that Roger will be pleased with his decision. Hank tells Pierre that he wants his brother kept out of this, Sam doesn't know what he has been involved in. Pierre says that Roger is a man of his word, if he kills Sheridan then Sam need not know a thing. Pierre orders Hank to finish the job as quickly as possible so he can return to Paris. Suddenly, Hank is spotted by Sam, who is on patrol. Sam approaches Hank and asks him who that guy he was talking to was? Hank claims it was just someone asking for directions. Sam tells Hank that he has good news for Luis, the FBI has given him permission to assign Sheridan a new bodyguard. Hank thinks that is good news because Luis has been getting way to close to Sheridan. After Sam leaves, Pierre returns and asks Hank what is going on, has he changed his mind? Hank says he hasn't, if it comes down to killing Sheridan or going to prison, there is no contest, he will kill Sheridan.
At the cottage, Luis and Sheridan are still going at it hot-n-heavy. Luis picks Sheridan up and takes her into the bedroom. The two fall onto the bed and begin to make love. Unfortunately, Sam shows up at the door and yells inside to Luis. Luis and Sheridan don't want to stop, but Luis says if they don't answer than Sam will probably break in to make sure they are okay. Luis tells Sheridan that he'll be right back and not to go anywhere. Luis opens the door to Sam, who asks what is going on here, why is he so sweaty? Luis says he woke up and couldn't get back to sleep, so he did some push-ups. Luis asks why he has dropped by? Sam asks Luis if everything is okay, are he and Sheridan getting along all right? Sheridan shows up and says hello to Sam and asks what brings him by so late, is anything wrong? Sam says everything is fine. When Sam is beeped, he goes to use Sheridan's phone to check in. Sam returns and tells Luis the great news, the FBI has relieved Luis of his duty, and Luis' replacement should be here any minute. Luis and Sheridan both blurt out "No!" Sam is confused, and asks why they look like their cat just died? Luis and Sheridan both argue that they are used to the situation, and they prefer to keep things the way they are. Sam is stunned because he thought they would be happy that the assignment was over. Sheridan says she is used to Luis, so Sam offers to call his guy and tell him that Luis will stay. Sheridan goes to make some tea, and Sam feels that something is going on that he isn't telling him. Sam reminds Luis of Julian's threat to reinstate the kidnapping charges if he doesn't stay away from Sheridan. Sam decides to leave for the night, but reminds Luis of what he has to lose before he goes. Luis recalls Julian's threats, and Sheridan tells Luis that he has to think about himself and his career, she knows how important being a professional is to him. Luis says "to hell with professionalism" and kisses Sheridan.
At the mansion, Rebecca tells Ivy that it is a good thing she talked Ethan out of calling Theresa because he would have learned that Gwen was there handling things. Ethan shows back up and has changed his mind again, he wants to talk to Theresa and make sure she is okay. Rebecca and Ivy do their best to convince Ethan not to call Theresa because they all need a good night's sleep, and Julian points out that he doesn't want to alarm Luis about this latest development. Ethan decides to wait until morning, but Rebecca opens her mouth and says she's sure nothing has changed since he saw Theresa earlier tonight. Ethan wonders how she knows he was with Theresa earlier? Rebecca covers and says she just meant that nothing would change if he talked to her in the morning instead of tonight. Still, Ethan becomes suspicious and asks everyone what is going on here? When they won't say anything, Ethan calls Theresa, but gets no answer. Ethan realizes something is very wrong. Ethan leaves, and Ivy and Julian get into an argument when Julian and Rebecca whine about their failed business arrangement, aka the marriage. Ivy tells Julian that she wants Ethan to be married to someone he loves because they obviously don't have that type of marriage, and she points out that neither does Rebecca. Rebecca asks Ivy if she is saying that she doesn't want Ethan to marry Gwen? Ivy says no, she knows Ethan loves Gwen and he would be far happier with her than he would with Theresa. However, Ivy refuses to do anything underhanded to force Ethan to marry Gwen, so if he chooses Theresa, so be it! Rebecca's eyes bug out of her head and she looks at Julian as if Ivy has lost her mind. Rebecca tells Julian to get control of his wife, but Julian says that Ivy is a lost cause, so they need to handle this on their own. Rebecca tells Ivy that she is a fool, this family has already lost Sheridan to Luis, now she's allowing her son to dump Gwen for Theresa, will she allow Julian to run off with Pilar next? Ivy says of course not, she'd never do that to Pilar! Rebecca informs Ivy that with or without her help, she's going to make sure Ethan and Gwen marry, no matter what she has to do!
At the Lopez-Fitzgerald's house, Gwen is strangling Theresa and tells her "Payback's a bitch!" Pilar continues to try and get out of the closet, but she is securely trapped. Gwen tells Theresa that her mother can't keep her from getting what is coming to her. Theresa manages to break free from Gwen's grasp by dumping face powder on her head. Theresa tells Gwen that she's crazy, she could have killed her! Gwen says that is her plan, she wants her dead! Gwen finds Theresa's new blouse, one which Theresa saved up for months to buy, and she begins to rip it to pieces! Theresa's phone rings, but by time she answers it, Ethan has hung up. Theresa suggests to Gwen that they sit down and talk about this, but Gwen refuses to listen to more of her lies. Theresa says she never meant to hurt her. Gwen asks her if she thought that stealing the only man she ever loved WOULDN'T hurt her? Theresa says she didn't think . . and Gwen interrupts and tells her of course she didn't think, she doesn't give a damn about anyone but herself. Gwen asks Theresa how long she had been plotting to get Ethan, how many times did she lie to her when she asked her if she loved Ethan? Gwen knows that she was will to pull any lie or trick in order to get Ethan and ruin her wedding, and she succeeded and pulled it off! Theresa says it didn't happen that way. She tells Gwen that she did love Ethan, but she never planned to become involved in her wedding to Ethan! Gwen says she is right there, that was her incredibly stupid idea. Theresa tries to tell Gwen that she is sorry, but Gwen says not as sorry as she's going to be. Gwen says from this moment on she is in control, and she's going to wipe her right out of the picture! As Gwen once again begins to strangle Theresa, Ethan shows up and tears Gwen off of Theresa! Theresa lets her mom out of the closet, and Ethan asks what in the hell is going on here? Pilar says that Gwen tried to kill Theresa! Ethan asks Gwen how she could do this? Gwen asks "What about what Theresa has done to me?" Ethan tells Gwen not to blame Theresa because this is his fault. Gwen calls Ethan blind and stupid. Gwen starts screaming at Ethan for letting Theresa do this to them, and she starts attacking Ethan. Meanwhile, Pilar warns Theresa that Gwen knows the truth about her, that she's always loved Ethan, and if Ethan finds out he will realize that she set him up! Gwen continues to yell at Ethan and tells him that she has been lied to and made a fool out of. She tells Ethan that Theresa stole him from her and he let it happen! Ethan continues to tell Gwen that Ethan is innocent, so Gwen corrects him and informs him that Theresa has been plotting to get him, she set him up! Ethan doesn't believe that, so Gwen tells Ethan that Theresa has worshipped him for years, she even cut pictures of him out of magazines and plastered them all over her room! Gwen even tells Ethan that the wedding portfolio Theresa made was not for their wedding, it was for her fantasy wedding to him. Ethan thinks that Gwen has just imagined this to rationalize her own actions, so Gwen suggests that Ethan ask Theresa for himself.
Saint Michael is shaking the mine to pieces in an attempt to destroy all evil. Tabitha tells Timmy that their only chance to escape with their lives is to shut the magic box. Tabitha tells Timmy to go close the box, but he wonders why Tabitha can't do it? Tabitha says that Saint Michael knows her, but he looks cute and innocent and might be able to sneak by. Timmy agrees to take the undercover assignment. Meanwhile, Kay can't believe that Tabitha's doll is moving and talking, Charity looks like a horror-movie devil girl, and an angel bathed in a zillion watt light is hovering above her. Timmy attempts to close the box, but is unable to. Tabitha thanks him for trying and says she'll miss him. Suddenly, Saint Michael begins to zap Tabitha and Evil Charity! Tabitha begins to dissolve, and she tells Timmy to try one more time before she goes to pieces! Timmy manages to close the box, saving Tabitha and Evil CHarity from Saint Michael. Tabitha tells Timmy that all they have to do now is figure a way out of here before that box opens back up! As they are walking away, Evil Charity tells Tabitha and Timmy that she and the demons will save Saint Michael the trouble of dealing with them because they'll do that themselves! Meanwhile, Miguel comes to and he asks what happened? Kay tells him that they've fallen into a mineshaft. Miguel asks where Charity is? Kay says that she chased Tabitha and her doll down a tunnel. Miguel says that doesn't make any sense, but Kay says that nothing has made sense since they got here. She says that Charity's eyes have been glowing and her voice sounds like a drag queen, Tabitha and Timmy showed up out of no where, then Saint Michael popped out of a box and tried to destroy them, but Timmy saved them, and they all went running down the tunnel! Miguel thinks Kay hit her head HARD, and decides to go find Charity and save her. They make their way through the tunnels to try and locate Charity. Back in the tunnel, Tabitha tells Evil Charity that they should concentrate on making sure the box stays shut rather than fighting amongst themselves. Evil Charity agrees to deal with them after securing the box. Tabitha, Timmy, and Evil Charity return to where the box is, and they see that Miguel and Kay are gone. They realize that Miguel must still be alive, so Evil Charity says they must find him and kill him! Tabitha says they've never find him in this maze! Evil Charity says "point taken," so she decides to use Miguel's love for Charity to lure him here. Evil Charity yells in her sweet Charity voice that she's lost and needs help. However, Miguel doesn't hear her and continues searching for Charity.
Back on the surface, Reese and Simone return to the mineshaft and discover that Tabitha and Timmy have vanished. As Reese theorizes that an earthquake swallowed them up, Simone spots the light coming out of the mineshaft. Reese and Simone investigate by shouting down the mineshaft. Reese can hear voices, so they decide to call Sam because he'll know what to do. Back at the Bennett's, Sam is awakened by Reese's call. Sam tells Reese and Simone to stay away from the shaft, he and a search team will be up there ASAP.
At the cottage, Sheridan and Luis continue to kiss, but Sheridan is troubled by Luis' throwing away his badge. Luis says tonight he is not a cop, he is a man who wants her more than anything he's ever wanted in his entire life. Sheridan asks him what about Julian, he could have those charges reinstated. Luis says he doesn't care about Julian or Sam taking his badge away, compared to being with her it is no contest. Sheridan tells Luis that she doesn't want him to have any regrets, so Luis assures her that he won't. He tells her that nothing will stop them from being together. As they are close to making love, Sam calls and interrupts them. He leaves a message on the machine asking Luis to pick up because it is an emergency. Luis picks up and asks Sam what is wrong? Sam tells him about Reese's call, and Luis realizes he has to go. He asks Sheridan to call Hank and have him come over to guard him because he needs to go to the mines. Sheridan wants to go with him because she doesn't want to lose him, so he tells her to put some clothes on. Sheridan gets ready, and Luis tells her there is no reason she needs to come with him. Sheridan says after tonight she didn't think she needed a reason to be with him. Luis smiles and says she doesn't, and they kiss again.
At the Lopez-Fiztgerald's, Gwen urges Ethan to ask Theresa if she has been after him all along. Ethan refuses to believe Theresa is that type of person and tells Gwen to blame him, not Theresa. Gwen tells Ethan that Theresa wants to be Mrs. Ethan Crane and he's so stupid that she might actually succeed! Ethan calls Gwen crazy, but Gwen says she is not crazy and Theresa is every bit the conniving gold digger her mother said she was! Gwen promises Theresa that she will make her suffer as much as she has! Ethan tells Gwen to stop this, Theresa did not plot and scheme to make him fall in love with her, it just happened. Ethan defends Theresa and all her actions, and he tells Gwen that he realized he truly loved her after she almost died. Gwen tells Ethan to spare her the play by play, Theresa came to work at that mansion with one thing on her mind, to land him. Ethan tells Gwen, for the last time, that Theresa did not make him fall in love with her. Gwen asks Ethan if she can prove him wrong, will he forget about Theresa and marry her tomorrow? Ethan continues to defend Theresa, so Gwen ups the ante and suggests Pilar has been helping Theresa scheme to get Ethan. Gwen shows Ethan the pictures Theresa has been collecting of him over the years. She says these are the only pictures she has in her room, there are no rock stars or movie stars anywhere to be found! She then shows him the sketch of Theresa in the wedding dress, and she demands Theresa admit that she manipulated Ethan into loving her. Theresa says nothing, so Gwen tells Ethan that Theresa's silence says it all. Gwen tells Ethan that he did not fall in love with Theresa, he fell into her trap. She begs Ethan to say he sees it now and that he'll marry her tomorrow. Ethan thinks that perhaps Theresa just cut them out of old magazines, and that the sketch was just her dreaming about her wedding. Gwen tells Ethan that he's being played for a fool and runs out of the house. Ethan goes after her, and Theresa says that was a close one. Still, Pilar tells Theresa that if Ethan ever learns the truth, she will never be Mrs. Ethan Crane. Theresa thinks that Gwen gave it her best shot and failed, Ethan is as good as hers! Pilar tells her not to count Gwen out just yet, she is no fool and will find a way to turn Ethan against her. Downstairs, Ethan assures Gwen that he still loves her, but he couldn't marry her when he loved Theresa as well. He says he needs time to sort out his feelings. Gwen tells him that he could have done that on their honeymoon, she would have helped him forget all about Theresa. Ethan isn't sure that she could. Gwen tells him that he doesn't love her, he is only infatuated with her. Ethan says it is more than that, but Gwen is positive that Theresa could never do what she does for him in bed. Ethan says this is not about sex, it is about his feelings for her. Gwen can't believe how stupid Ethan is being and says she can't take much more of this. She runs out of the house and calls her mother. Gwen tells her mom that she has lost Ethan. Rebecca tells Gwen not to worry, she knows exactly how she can get Ethan back! Gwen says she'll do anything to get Ethan back. Rebecca tells Gwen to lose the anger and adopt Theresa's wounded bird act. Second, she needs to make Ethan feel rotten for what he's done to her. Third, Rebecca instructs Gwen to bring Ethan home to the Crane mansion where she'll have a surprise waiting for him. Ethan comes outside, and Gwen starts crying the best phony tears she can.
Gwen continues to cry phony tears, and Ethan falls victim to her little self-pity party. Theresa and Pilar watch Ethan comforting Gwen, but Theresa is positive that Ethan loves her and he is just being a gentleman. Gwen gets a call from her mother, who tells her to come to the Crane mansion instead of going home.
At the mansion, Rebecca and Julian plot to make sure Ethan chooses Gwen. When Gwen arrives at the mansion, Rebecca gives her one of Ivy's old pieces of lingerie and tells her to go up to Ethan's room. Ethan returns home, and heads up to his room. Later, an angry Sam calls Julian and scolds him for not sealing up the mines on the Crane property. He orders Julian to get up here with maps of the mines or else! Meanwhile, back at the Lopez-Fitzgerald house, Pilar and Theresa learn about Miguel and the others. Theresa decides to go to the mansion because she's positive Ethan will want to help. After Theresa leaves, Pilar calls the mansion and asks Julian to please send Theresa home when she arrives. Julian relays the news to Rebecca because it seems as if her plan is ruined. Rebecca says that is not the case at all! Up in Ethan's bedroom, Gwen continues to cry phony tears and tries to seduce Ethan. Ethan refuses to make love to her, so she asks him to at least comfort her so she can get to sleep. Ethan climbs into bed with Gwen in order to help her get to sleep. Meanwhile, Theresa shows up, and Rebecca informs Theresa that Ethan and Gwen are upstairs making love right now. Theresa doesn't believe Rebecca, but when she opens Ethan's bedroom door, she sees him in bed kissing Gwen!
At the Russell house, Chad is forced to hide in the closet in order to avoid being caught by Eve. Eve talks to Whitney about Chad for a bit. Eve likes Chad and her opinions of him are changing, but she still feels that he is a bad influence on her daughters because he has no education. Suddenly, TC shows up and tells everyone about the kids falling into the mine shaft. They all get ready to head up to the ruins, and Chad shows up at the front door pretending like he just got in. He offers to help them out, which pleases TC. TC tells CHad that he's becoming a member of this family.
Up at the ruins, Simone and Reese tell Sam about the noises and the mysterious lights they saw coming out of the mine shaft. Simone almost falls into the mine, but Sam saves her. Luis and Sheridan arrive on the scene, as does Hank. Hank is unaware that Pierre has followed him up there as well. Hank is disturbed to see Luis and Sheridan hugging, and later Sheridan informs Hank that she and Luis have decided to forget the past and start over. Pierre informs Hank that he no longer has to shoot Sheridan, instead he can push her into the mineshaft and everyone will think it was an accident! Meanwhile, everyone begins digging out the shaft, which has been partially sealed off by a cave-in. Grace has a premonition of the box in the mineshaft and mumbles "All hope is lost."
Down in the mine, Kay tells Miguel that Charity is evil, but Miguel refuses to believe her. Evil Charity has had it with Kay, and blows a gust of wind which pushes Kay backwards into a pool of quicksand. Kay goes under, but Miguel is able to save her. Kay is positive that Charity caused her accident with her evil powers. Meanwhile, Evil Charity, Timmy, and Tabitha all begin to argue. Tabitha is afraid that Grace will learn to use her powers to open the box. Evil Charity says that won't happen because they will take care of Kay and Miguel right away. Tabitha tells Evil Charity that she is always calling her and Timmy incompetent, but she is the one with egg on her face this time. Tabitha says that Kay has told Miguel all about her and now Miguel will never come to the aid of Charity, she blew it! Evil Charity doubts that and calls out for help in her sweetest Good Charity voice. Miguel hears her and yells back that he is coming. Suddenly, the box begins to shake, and Timmy screams that it is going to open back up!
