He goes on to say that he believed his father was being pressured. When his father left for work the next day, he never came home. Julian tells Luis that his father simply abandoned his family, but Luis doesn't believe that. Luis asks why Alastair would call his house to talk to his father? He wants to know what his family is covering up. Julian tells Luis that he's heard enough and tells Luis to leave. Luis tells Julian that he is reopening the investigation in order to find the truth. Julian thinks it is time that Luis knows the truth once and for all. Julian says that his family has only tried to protect Pilar from the truth. Julian tells Luis that a lot of money was skimmed from the department his father worked for. He says that Martin was ordered to report to work the next morning, but he never showed up. Luis refuses to believe that because his father was a good man. Julian tells Luis that there was proof, but his father destroyed it to protect Pilar. Luis doesn't buy a word of this. Julian claims that Martin over-extended his limit by buying that house, so Martin stole to continue putting food on their table and clothes on their back. Julian tells Luis to ask Pilar about it, ask her about how the bank helped her mortgage the house, and why she got a huge raise that year. Julian tells Luis that his five minutes are up, so he should leave. Before Luis leaves, Julian tells him that he should be loving the Cranes, not hating them.

Sheridan isn't, and realizes this room no longer has a hold over her. However, she gives Julian a warning. She tells him from now on both he and father will have to deal with her demands, she's no longer the sweet Sheridan she once was. Later, Julian calls his father and tells him what he told Luis about his dad, who was devastated. Alastair says of course he was, his father lived by the ten commandments!
