At the Bennett's, Kay pulls a thread from her favorite blouse just as Hecuba ordered. Hecuba takes the thread and tells Kay that she now has to decide just how far she wants to go. Kay asks Hecuba what she means? Hecuba asks Kay if she wants Charity maimed? Kay says of course not, she just wants her away from Miguel. Hecuba says that there are all sorts of ways to terrorize Charity. A confused Kay says that she thoughts the point was to help her get Miguel? Hecuba says it is, but what is the point in getting what you want if you can't cause others pain? Kay tells Hecuba that she won't do this, she is evil just like Charity was in the mineshaft. Kay covers her ears and says "I'm not listening . . . . " Hecuba tells Kay fine, it is only a matter of time before she gives into her desires, and then she'll get her and her entire family. Hecuba laughs, and Miguel, who is on his way to Kay's room, hears the laugh and recognizes it. Back in her room, Kay tells Hecuba to go away, she'll find a way to get Miguel on her own. Hecuba tells her that she's tried that before and failed, she needs her help. Kay says that she doesn't want her help, but Hecuba says she needs it. Hecuba says that Miguel will never turn away from CHarity, but she can make Charity turn away from Miguel. However, Kay thinks if Miguel sees Hecuba, he will know everything that happened in the cave was real. Hecuba warns Kay that she must be kept a secret, unless she wants to make certain she never gets Miguel. Miguel shows up, and asks Kay what is going on? Hecuba has disappeared, and Miguel asks again what is going on? He says that he could have sworn he heard the cackling they heard in the mineshaft, but it must be his mind playing tricks on him. As Kay is about to tell him the truth, she sees Hecuba waving to her from the crystal. Miguel tells Kay that she thinks some of what they hallucinated really happened, and he's pretty sure that he kissed her. He tells Kay that he wants to talk to her about what it means. Miguel apologizes to Kay and hopes he wasn't out of line. He says everything must have been really messed up, and that he would never have done something like that. Miguel tells Kay that he knows she loves Reese, and that Charity is the only girl in his heart. Kay reminds him that Charity tried to kill him, but he says it was only a hallucination. Kay asks him "What if you had proof that everything that went on down there was real? Could you ever go near her again?" Miguel says he would never turn his back on Charity and he would do whatever he could to help her. Miguel says he will stand by Charity no matter what. Hecuba tells Kay that she told her that she needs her help to get Miguel! Kay asks Miguel if he heard that voice, but he says no. Hecuba informs Kay that only she can hear her, and she is the only one who can make Charity turn away from Miguel. Kay picks up the crystal, and Miguel asks her what she is holding? Kay tells Miguel that it is nothing, just a paper weight. Miguel says that for a minute he thought it was one of those jewels they saw in that woman's cave. Miguel tells Kay that he believes what everyone has said must be right, it was all a hallucination. However, even if it was real, Miguel says he'd stick by Charity as long as she wanted him. Miguel says he better get back downstairs. Kay says she'll be right down. After Miguel leaves, Hecuba reappears. She tells Kay that she knew she'd make the right decision. Kay asks Hecuba why she is helping her? Hecuba says that it is because she controls the diamond! Kay asks what the diamond is, is it like Aladdin's lamp? Hecuba tells Kay that it is, in a way. Hecuba tells Kay that it will help her get her heart's desire. Kay agrees, but only as long as she doesn't hurt Charity. Kay doesn't want to do anything evil. Kay asks her if she is real? HEcuba says if she is not real, than she has nothing to worry about. However, if she is real . . . Kay says "then Miguel is mine!" Kay says she has to go back downstairs, and Hecuba tells her that she will be here whenever she needs her. Kay leaves, and Hecuba says that she will help the foolish Kay, she will help her create more agony and grief than this town has ever seen!

At the country club, Theresa and Whitney listen as Ethan, Gwen, and their friends recount how romantic Ethan is and the elaborate measures he went to make Gwen happy. Theresa tells Whitney that it is hopeless, there is no way she can compete with those memories. Whitney tells Theresa that she still has a date with Ethan tonight, she still has a chance. However, Theresa thinks it may be too late. Back at the table, Ethan and Gwen's friends are about to leave, but Ethan asks them to stay because it has been so great reliving all these old memories. The waiter delivers a box to Ethan, who wonders what it could be. Gwen tells him that it is a clue to the second half of their date. Ethan opens the box and finds the cup they won at the club's sailing championship. Their friends manage to make Ethan realize that they make a wonderful team. Theresa's heart continues to break, so Whitney reminds her that Ethan still loves her and broke off his wedding for her. She tells Theresa to stay positive and show Ethan tonight that they belong together. Theresa asks "What if Ethan doesn't show up?" Whitney says that won't happen, so she should stop worrying about it. Theresa agrees to stay positive, and decides to go home and plan a wonderful date for her and Ethan. Back at the table, Ethan excuses himself to get something from his locker, and Gwen tells friends that she plans to take up so much of Ethan's time tonight that he forgets he even has a date with Theresa!

Theresa goes home and tries to plan a wardrobe. Whitney tells her to just be herself tonight, that way it will bring back all of Ethan's feelings for her. Theresa continues to worry, so Whitney tries to make her stay positive and concentrate on the present and the future, not the past. Theresa tells Whitney that she's right, tonight she and Ethan will start their own memories. Theresa announces that mission Ethan is a go, and she runs into her room to get ready. Theresa gets all dolled up in a red dress and pulls her hair up, but Ethan has not shown up. The clock hits six, and Theresa thinks the worst. Theresa knows that Ethan is always on time, so that can only mean that he has forgotten about her, and she's lost him forever.

Ethan and Gwen are taking a walk on the docks talking about the sailing trip they just went on. Gwen tells Ethan that the times they have spent sailing are some of her happiest memories, and she hopes they can make many more. Gwen then pulls Ethan into a kiss.

Meanwhile, Grace talks with Eve, and she tells her that the dreams she have been having could be premonitions and not nightmares, and if so, who could the little boy be? Eve tells Grace that they were nightmares, so Grace asks why Julian would make such accusations? Grace breaks down into Eve's arms. Back in Julian's room, Ivy asks Pilar how this could have happened, how could Julian know? Eve returns and tells Ivy how could Julian not know? She says it was only a matter of time before he caught onto her plays for Sam. When Eve makes a comment about poor Grace, Ivy tells them not to worry about Grace because she will continue to live her boring, mundane life. However, her life will become a living hell, unless Grace refuses to forgive Sam, leaving nothing to stand in her and Sam's way. Pilar tells her to get that idea out of her head, and Eve assures Ivy that Sam and Grace will work through this! Elsewhere, Grace asks Sam to tell her that what Julian said is not true. Sam tells Grace that it is time she knew the truth. Sam begins to tell her that along time ago . . . when Julian shouts at Grace to come back into his room. He tells her that it has come to their attention that taxes on this estate haven't been payed in over three hundred years. The taxman says he doesn't know how this error was never caught, but their new computers caught the glitch. Timmy tells us that it was no glitch, Tabitha used to just zap the records when she had her powers. Tabitha asks him how much she owes, so he gives her a huge report to look over for herself. He tells Tabitha that he'll be in touch, and takes off. Timmy asks her how much she owes? Tabitha hands him the printout, which seems to go on forever! Timmy tells Tabitha they owe enough money for the two of them to have MarTimmy's for the rest of the millennium! At the Lopez-Fitzgerald house, Theresa fears that Ethan has stood her up. Whitney tells her to stay calm, but Theresa can't stop thinking that Ethan has forgotten about her. Theresa looks at a picture of Ethan and begs him not to leave her because she'll die if he does. Whitney reminds Theresa that Ethan cancelled his wedding, he hurt Gwen and his family, he risked his entire future because he loves her, so she doubts he would forget her. Theresa says she doesn't know, she doesn't know anything anymore. Whitney gives her a pep talk about how she always believed Ethan would fall in love with her and marry her, and nobody could talk her out of her crazy dream. Whitney goes on to say that Ethan is ten minutes late, and suddenly she's ready to condemn him? Suddenly, someone puts their hands over Theresa's eyes, and Theresa knows it is Ethan. Indeed it is Ethan, and Theresa jumps into his arms. Ethan asks Theresa why she is crying? Whitney says it is because she is happy, and Theresa insists that she is fine. Ethan gives Theresa a bouquet of flowers, which is why he is running late. He tells her that getting across town took awhile with rush-hour, and he's sorry he's late. Theresa hugs Ethan, and Whitney tells Ethan that Theresa thought he might have forgotten. Ethan tells Theresa that he'd never forget about their date because he loves her.

Gwen meets her mom at a little restaurant and tells Rebecca that Ethan ran off to go on his date with Theresa just when she thought she had him back. Rebecca tells Gwen not to worry because things are going as planned. Gwen realizes her mother is up to something and wants in. Rebecca says that the more Ethan comes through for her, the more she will count on him being there for her. Gwen realizes that is when they will move in. Rebecca tells Gwen to trust her, she will win Ethan back, in fact, disaster should strike any minute now!

Back at the Lopez-Fitzgerald house, Ethan tells Theresa that he has made reservations at two restaurants, one is fancy and one is not so fancy, and she can decide which one they go to. Suddenly, Ethan's friend Robert shows up at Theresa's door. Ethan asks Robert what is up? Robert tells Ethan that he has tickets to the basketball game of the year, and he wants Ethan to join him. We see a flashback of Rebecca giving Robert the tickets to the game with instructions to invite Ethan along. However, Ethan turns Robert down because he has plans for tonight. Robert tries his best to get him to come with him, but Ethan turns him down. Theresa feels terrible about the and wonders if she should let them go to the game. Robert tells Theresa that this game is like a tradition for him and Ethan, Ethan never misses a game. Theresa asks if he has an extra ticket so that she could go along, but he says he doesn't and that the game has been sold out for weeks. Ethan, who had made a phone call to check on his dad, returns and finds that Theresa suddenly has a headache. Ethan decides to just order in some food so they can watch TV together, but Theresa suggests they take a raincheck and go out tomorrow, and that way he can go to the game with his friend. Ethan asks Theresa if she's sure she doesn't mind if he goes? Theresa says no, and tells him to have fun. Ethan gives her a kiss and tells her to rest up, and then leaves with Robert. A spying Rebecca sees them leave together and says that Ethan will be Gwen's tonight! Back inside, Whitney asks Theresa why she lied to him? Theresa says it is because she would do anything for Ethan.

Ethan and Robert arrive at the game, and Gwen and Sharon are sitting right behind them. Gwen acts surprised to see Ethan, and she says this is just like old times. Back at the Lopez-Fitzgerald house, Theresa turns on the basketball game on TV hoping to see Ethan. As she turns away from the television to smell the flowers Ethan brought her, she doesn't see Ethan chatting up a storm with Gwen on the television.

At the mansion, Julian produces "diamonds" to prove what happened in the cave was real. Sam, Grace, Pilar, and Eve smile and hold back laughter because Julian is holding rocks in his hand, not diamonds! Ivy looks at Julian like he is pathetic, but soon begins to laugh herself. Julian asks what is wrong with them? Eve points out to him that he is not holding diamonds, he's holding rocks! Ivy suggests they show the diamonds to Alistair and tell him about the cave full of treasures. Eve tells Julian that Kay and Miguel went through the same thing, the noxious gasses down their caused them all to hallucinate. Ivy tells Julian to get real, and underground cave full of magical treasures, a mirror, and an old hag? Ivy asks Pilar if she'd believe the story if she told it to her? Pilar says she'd have to say no. Julian gets out of bed and produces Rembrandt famous last self portrait in order to prove his point, only it turns out to be an old mining poster! Pilar suggests that Mr. Crane just needs a good nights sleep. Still, Julian says proof or no proof, he knows that Sam and Ivy are lovers! Ivy and Sam tell Julian that is enough, but Julian insist he knows the truth. He asks Grace if Sam has ever shown any fondness towards Ivy? Grace says she is more fond of Ivy than Sam is. Still, Julian wonders why he saw Ivy and Sam in bed if it never happened? Eve opens up and tells Julian that she'll tell him the truth because there is no reason that the truth need to remain a secret. Eve tells Julian that the reason he saw Sam and Ivy in the mirror is because he has let his imagination run away with him due to Sam saving Ivy so many times. Julian says that he is not the kind of man who lets his imagination run wild. Ivy tells Julian that he tends to think ill of others and that they act just like he does, when the truth is that other people are not unfaithful to their spouses. Sam agrees that Julian must have been hallucinating, but Julian continues to believe what he saw was real. Pilar says it is late and decides to show everyone out. Before Sam leaves, he warns Ivy to stop Julian before he takes this any further. After they leave, Ivy scolds Julian for going on like he did in front of the Bennetts, and she says if he isn't careful everyone will know how screwy he is. When Julian comments how she is always so concerned about the Bennetts, Ivy once again suggests they tell Alistair about his little hallucinations because Alistair would have him put away! Julian thinks it is interesting how she is fighting to keep this story so hush-hush. He also tells Ivy that when he saw her making love to Sam he saw a side of her that he's never seen before because they never made love that way. Ivy tells him that if it was any good then it is no wonder he didn't recognize her because they have never been good in bed together. Julian asks her whose fault is that? Ivy says it is his because she'd rather sleep with a man on the street than with him. Julian says she may get her wish if what he saw in the mirror was true. Later, Julian vows to find out the truth behind Sam and Ivy.

Sam, Grace, and Eve return to the Bennett house. Sam hopes Grace didn't take Julian's rantings to heart. Grace knows they aren't real, but when Julian said those things they made her blood run cold. Grace tells him that her dreams made her think that the woman in the hooded cloak was Ivy. Grace tells Sam that if he had an affair in the past before they were married that it wouldn't bother her. Sam tells Eve that perhaps he should tell Grace. Eve warns him to just be careful. As Sam is about to tell her the truth, Grace opens her mouth and says it would be fine with her to know he had another love before her, but she knows he never had a major love because he would have told her. Grace says that she's asked him many times if he's ever had a great love before, and he said no, and she knows he wouldn't lie to her. She says that if he had lied to her, and had been in love with a woman like Ivy, a woman who had been in their home, then she would feel betrayed. Sam realizes he can't tell Grace the truth, and he wonders how Julian learned the truth?

Part of the show was interrupted today. This has also not been proofed!
At Tabitha's, Timmy cries to Tabitha that she can't sell him because he'd never sell her. Tabitha tells him that she could never part with him, and who would want a dried up old witch like her. Tabitha says she is about to loose her house, the one and only thing she owns, and they will be forced to go live in the graveyard. Timmy reminds her that she is sitting on a gold mine, but Tabitha tells him not to start that again. Timmy begs her to sell her memoirs, but Tabitha refuses. Timmy brings the memoirs to Tabitha, who says that she has no doubt her book would be a best seller and they'd be rolling in dough. Timmy has a cute little fantasy about rolling in a pile of money. Timmy tells Tabitha to call a publisher now! Tabitha refuses because if she exposed the goody-goodies' skeletons, they would attack her just like they did over three hundred years ago! Tabitha tells Timmy that she is sorry, but it is just too risky. Timmy says he is not going to live in a graveyard! Tabitha says he might not have to because she just had an idea. Tabitha collects all her antiques together and decides to call a collector and sell them. Tabitha gets misty eyed because each and every item holds such fond memories. Someone rings the doorbell, so Tabitha goes to answer it. Timmy tells Tabitha later on that she doesn't have to sell her things because he can write a book just like Hecuba showed him. Tabitha tells Timmy once again that he cannot trust Hecuba. Timmy says he really wants to meet those beautiful babes, but Tabitha says it will never happen, so he should get those promises out of his mind! Tabitha leaves for the antique store, and Hecuba drops in to see Timmy. Timmy tells her to go away because she is trouble according to Tabitha. Hecuba tells him that Tabitha was wrong, he is here to help him. Hecuba tells Timmy that Tabitha needs him to be brave and sell her memoirs for her. Hecuba tries to convince Timmy that Tabitha is just afraid of rejection, but they know the book will be a success! Timmy says that Tabitha locked the book up, but Hecuba says that is not a problem. Hecuba waves her hand, and the cabinet where Tabitha locked it up opens. Timmy grabs it, and Hecuba tells him that everything he ever wanted will be hers! Tabitha returns, and Hecuba vanishes, but not before telling Timmy to publish the memoirs. Timmy hides the book, and Tabitha asks Timmy who was here and what has been going on?

At the game, Gwen acts shocked when Ethan shows up at the game with Robert. Gwen asks Ethan were Theresa is? Ethan says that she had to cancel because she had a headache. Gwen says she hopes Theresa is doing okay. Ethan asks her if she is sure, or did she set this up? Gwen asks Ethan how he could suggest such a thing? Sharon claims that her father gave them the tickets to the game, that is the only reason they came. Gwen and Shannon say that it is just like old times, and Robert says it would really be like old times if he could sit with Shannon. Gwen says she doesn't mind, so she sits with Ethan and Robert sits with Shannon. Shannon congratulates Robert on a job well done, but says they still have to remind Ethan that he and Gwen belong together. Ethan decides to call Theresa to make sure Theresa is okay, but an usher tells Ethan that there are no cell-phones allowed. When Ethan decides to go find a payphone, Robert manages to spot an old frat buddy of theirs to distract Ethan. After the game, Robert and Sheridan suggests they go back to the Seascape. Ethan wants to go see Theresa, but the others try to talk him into going out to see their old friends.

At the Lopez-Fitzgerald house, Theresa calls Chad and invites him over to watch the game with her. Chad says he's not doing anything, so he'll be right over. Whitney hears Theresa invite Chad over, and she accuses her of trying to play matchmaker. Theresa says somebody has to, and besides she needs him to teach her how basketball works so she can show Gwen up. Whitney doubts Ethan cares if she knows anything about basketball, but Theresa thinks he does care. Whitney says she could have asked Luis for help. Theresa wonders why she is so mad about Chad coming over? She asks Whitney what has happened between them? Whitney tells Theresa what happened at the ruins, that she got carried away and kissed him. Theresa says she knew it, she is crazy about Chad and finally let her true feelings show! Whitney says she could never be crazy for a guy like Chad. Whitney decides to leave, but when she opens the door, she runs into Chad! Chad asks Whitney if she is leaving, and she says yes because she's really not into college basketball. Chad asks her that he can leave if she's not ready to hang with him. Whitney agrees to stay, and Theresa asks Chad to help her understand the game. Chad thought that she had a date with Ethan tonight, so Theresa explains why she called it off. Chad tells her that she is too nice, if she wants someone like Ethan than she's going to have play rough. Theresa says she loves Chad and wants him to be happy, and besides he went to the game with his friend Robert. Theresa says the game is going to start, so they sit down. The announcer begins to point out the celebrities in the crowd to the folks at home, and Theresa jumps up and down when she sees Ethan. However, when Gwen reaches over and plants a kiss on her cheek, Theresa's smile fades. Chad tells Theresa that she has to be prepared to play hard and mean because that is how Gwen is playing. Whitney says that Gwen didn't kidnap Ethan, and Ethan looks pretty happy to her. Whitney thinks Ethan is stringing Theresa on, but Chad tells her to wait until Ethan explains himself. Theresa thinks that Gwen has set this up somehow, and Gwen is using her knowledge of Ethan and their friends to win them back. Theresa doesn't know how she can fight that. Whitney tells her that she can't, but if Ethan weren't a Crane, she would win him hands down. The gears in Theresa's mind begin to turn. Whitney and CHad begin to argue over whether Theresa can win Ethan. Whitney says it would be different if he was, say Chief Bennett's son. Chad says there is no point talking about this because Ethan is a Crane. Chad tells Theresa that she needs to start playing dirty. Theresa says there is something she can do, and she runs off. Whitney tries to go after her, but Chad stops her because he says they have something they need to talk about.

On the docks, Hank was talking to Pierre about killing Sheridan. Pierre is sick of listening to Hank's excuses and tells him to kill Sheridan tonight or else. Hank reminds him that Luis has been guarding Sheridan 24 hours a day. Pierre suggests to Hank that he eliminate the problem by killing Luis as well! Hank refuses to kill Luis because that was not part of their deal. Pierre says that if he stands in the way of him killing Sheridan than it doesn't matter. Pierre eggs Hank on by telling him that he has no passion because in France any "friend" who made love to the woman his friend loved would be a dead man! Hank says killing Sheridan isn't a problem for him, but Luis is! Suddenly, Hank and Pierre hear footsteps, so Pierre runs and hides behind some crates Agent Freeman shows up and tells Hank that they need to talk about Sheridan Crane. Agent Freeman says that the FBI has decided to close the case because there has been no activities involving the drug cartel in months. However, Agent Freeman says the case cannot be official closed until Luis goes to Washington, and he needs Hank to fill in for Luis until he returns. Agent Freeman orders Hank to fill in for Luis starting tonight. Hank smiles and says he can count on him. After Agent Freeman leaves, Pierre tells Hank that this is the perfect setup, and he wants to be there to see Sheridan die. Hank asks him if that is how he gets his kicks? Pierre says that the drug cartel must be certain that Sheridan is dead. Hank just hopes that Sheridan doesn't look him in the eye when he has to pull the trigger.

At the cottage, Luis carries SHeridan into the bedroom. Luis turns on the radio and "Imagine" is playing. Sheridan and Luis continue to kiss and undress one another. Luis and Sheridan make their way to the bed, where Sheridan begins to cry. Luis asks her what is wrong? Sheridan says nothing is wrong, she is crying because this is so right. Sheridan apologizes for taking so long to allow this to happen. Luis tells her that now that they are together, he won't let anything tear them apart again. Just as Sheridan asks Luis to make love to her, someone begins banging on the door. Sheridan tells him to ignore it, but they won't go away. Luis gets up to check on who it is, and he's shocked to see Agent Freeman. Agent Freeman tells Luis the news, and he and Sheridan are not pleased that Luis has to leave tonight. Sheridan and Luis try and talk Freeman out of this, but he says it is what the FBI wants, and it would be to their advantage that they follow orders. Sheridan tells Luis that he should go because it could help him become detective. Luis refuses, but Sheridan says they'll have other nights. Luis gives Sheridan a kiss and agrees to go.

The show was interrupted for election news

Luis is dressed and kissing Sheridan goodbye while Pierre tells Hank that he will be watching him as he kills Sheridan. He says that he wants to witness her death, and that Roger will want to read her obituary. Hank tells him that Sheridan's death will be on the front page of every major newspaper in the world.

Thursday

November 9
The news interrupted the soap AGAIN today! This is a very short summary.
Luis gives Sheridan one last kiss goodbye. He tells her that he shouldn't be gone long. Sheridan tells him that she'll miss him every second he is gone. Luis tells her that he knows she doesn't need a body guard anymore, but he's glad Hank is here. Luis tells her that she'll be safe with Hank. As they are kissing, Agent Freeman shows up and comments that it is a good thing the house isn't on fire. Agent Freeman has some things for Sheridan to sign, so Luis heads outside to wait for Hank. Outside, Pierre asks Hank if he has enough bullets, because he should have enough in case he misses. Later, Luis runs into Hank, as Hank is coming out of the bushes, and compliments him for looking for a hitman in the bushes, but tells him not to go overboard. Luis leaves to answer his phone, and Hank scolds Pierre for pulling out a gun and aiming it at Luis. Pierre says he was just getting ready to shoot just in case. Hank says that he will kill Sheridan, and in doing so that alone will kill Luis, so they don't need to shoot Luis. Later, Luis thanks Hank for watching over Sheridan, but he tells him to watch out for her because he doesn't know what he'd do if anything happened to her. As Luis is about to tell Hank that he's in love with Sheridan, Agent Freeman shows up and tells Luis that it is time for them to go.

Theresa goes to the docks and looks at the evidence on her computer that Ethan is Chief Bennett's son. She considers telling Ethan the truth in order to make him hers forever. Suddenly, Ethan shows up! Ethan asks Theresa why she didn't tell him the truth? Theresa says she is sorry, but he says he is not mad. Ethan says he understands why she didn't want to tell him the truth, and he is touched by it. Ethan says she did an unselfish thing by lying about her headache so he could go to the game with Robert. He thanks her for being so generous, and for showing him the kind of person she is. Ethan gives her a kiss, and then wonders what she was looking at on her computer? Theresa tells Ethan that there is something he should know. Theresa caves and lets him know that the game he went to was televised. Ethan realizes that Theresa saw him with Gwen. Theresa says she thought he was going with Robert. Ethan says so did he. Ethan tells Theresa that he had no idea that Shannon and Gwen would be there, they were sitting behind them. Theresa asks why he was sitting NEXT to her when she saw them together? Ethan says that was Shannon and Robert's doing. Theresa believes Ethan, but says it just threw her to see them together. Theresa feels that their relationship will never work. Ethan can't believe she is so upset over a game. Theresa tells him that he and Gwen have history together that she could never hope to have with him. Theresa says that no matter how hard she tries, she just can't competes with it. Theresa tells Ethan that the reason she wanted to watch the game was to learn about everything that interested him, but when he saw him with Gwen tonight, she realized that Gwen would always beat her to the punch. Theresa thinks it was awfully convenient that Gwen happened to be at the game with him, but Ethan says if anyone is that manipulative it is Gwen's mother, Rebecca.

At the Bennett's, Kay has made a special dinner for her dad and coach Russell for saving her life. Charity and Miguel are out on a date, so they missed Kay's dinner. Simone tells Kay that she's sorry about Miguel, but Kay tells Simone that it is her turn to help her get Miguel now that she has Chad. Outside, Whitney and Chad show up. Chad is ready to confront Kay of spreading lies about him and Tiffany. Back inside, everyone begins talking about the events in the mineshaft, and Grace opens her mouth and says that even Julian Crane believed there was a magic mirror down there. Kay asks what he said? Sam says Julian said nothing that made sense. Simone wonders how everyone saw the same thing? Was it a mass hallucianation? Kay says it was real, and if they were there then they would have seen it too! Suddenly, Chad and Whitney knock on the door. Grace answers the door as Sam lectures to Kay that she needs to outgrow her tendency to fabricate things. Kay says that she is not a liar, but Chad says that is exactly what she is! Sam doesn't approve of Chad's tone. Chad tells Chief Bennett to stay out of this, but Sam refuses to do that because he is calling his daughter a liar. Chad tells Sam and Grace that Kay is going around telling people, including Whitney, that he knocked up a girl name Tiffany and walked out on her. Eve blows up and tells everyone that she was afraid of this, and she wants Chad out of their garage apartment tonight! Chad thanks Dr. Russell for thinking the best of him, and he asks her what it is about him that she hates so much? TC doesn't like the way Chad is talking to his wife. Eve says she is glad Kay told Whitney about this, and if it turns out to be true, she doesn't want him to ever see her daughters again. Simone stands up for Chad and says she does not believe this story. Chad thanks her, but says it seems she is the only one that believes him. Sam says there is only one way to get to the bottom of things, so he asks Kay where she heard this story?

The news interrupted the show near the half-way point for a good twenty minutes. The following is what happened when it returned for the last 15 minutes.

At the Bennett's, Sam tells Chad not to worry, they will straighten this out as soon as Kay comes down with that girl's number. Eve believes Chad is guilty and has already passed judgement, but Sam and Grace believe he is innocent. Grace wonders what is keeping Kay, could she have made this up? Sam yells up to Kay to hurry up! He wants her downstairs with Tiffany's phone number by the time he counts to ten. He counts to ten, and then orders Kay to come down right now! When she doesn't leave her room, Sam announces that he is coming up there.

Luis and Agent Freeman are on their way to DC. Freeman tells Luis that there may be a promotion in this for him. Luis doesn't think he deserves it because he was just doing his job. Freeman suggests Luis check out the file to make sure that they didn't leave out anything significant. Luis goes over the file and thinks about his past with Sheridan.

At the cottage, Hank pulls his gun on Sheridan, and she asks him what he's doing and to put that thing away? Hank says he's sorry, but he can't do that. With tears in his eyes, Hank fires the gun at Sheridan, point blank range! Sheridan sees blood on her chest, and drops to the floor!

SURPISE! The news interrupted the soap today!
At the Bennett's, Sam comes downstairs, and Grace asks him what Kay said? Chad guesses that she said she couldn't find Tiffany's number, and Chad says that's because there is no Tiffany. Sam says that Kay deserves the benefit of the doubt just as he does, and she is still looking for the number right now. Eve tells TC that this is her worst nightmare, but TC tells her that she's jumping to conclusions. Eve wonders why Kay would lie about such a thing? TC doesn't know, but he's not going to convict Chad until he knows what is going on. Eve tells TC that if this turns out to be true, and this girl is Kay or Simone's age, it will be statutory rape! TC tells Eve "Honey, come on!" Grace says that statutory rape is a serious charge. TC hates to think that Chad really did get a girl pregnant and left her high and dry. Sam tells them not to pass judgement yet, but Eve continues to convict Chad. SHe goes off on how they really don't know all that much about Chad, all they have is his word that he came here to find his parents. Eve says if he came here to find his parents, why hasn't he found them yet? She continues to badmouth Chad, saying that he had to raise himself and obviously hasn't learned about right and wrong.

Meanwhile, Simone tells Whitney that she'll never forgive her if Chad goes to jail. Whitney says he won't be arrested if it isn't true. Simone tells her sister that has got to be the dumbest thing she's ever said because people are arrested everyday for crimes they are accused of but did not commit. Simone hopes that Whitney will be able to live with herself if anything happens to Chad, and the only way to save him now is for Kay to admit she lied about him. Whitney asks Simone why her best friend would spread a rumor about CHad if she knew it wasn't true? Simone doesn't believe Kay would do that, but says if she did, she wants nothing to do with Kay, just like Chad will want nothing to do with her. Simone tells Chad not to worry, the truth will come out. Chad thanks her and says if it wasn't for her, he'd be feeling mighty lonely. Simone leaves to give him something to drink, and Whitney approaches him. Whitney apologizes to Chad that his business is out in the public like this, and she's sorry for telling him about Kay's rumor. Chad says not to be because this is his only shot of defending himself. Whitney asks Chad if he forgives her? He says he forgives her this scenario tonight, but he doesn't forgive her for believing that the rumor is true.

Back up in Kay's room, Kay says she'd sell her soul to get out of this mess if she could. Suddenly, Hecuba appears to Kay! She asks Kay if she heard something about a soul to sell? Kay closes her eyes and shakes her head, but Hecuba tells her that won't work, she's real as mud! Hecuba starts talking about her past and how children used to tease her about her name. Kay tells Hecuba that she has her deepest sympathies, but she doesn't have time for this because she is in big trouble. Hecuba thinks she can help Kay out, but Kay doubts that. Hecuba waves her hands and tells Kay to look in the mirror! Kay says she doesn't have time for this, but when she passes the mirror, she notices her nose has grown to resemble Pinocchio's. Kay asks Hecuba to make it go away! Hecuba tells her that if she goes downstairs with a shnoze like that than they will all no she is a liar! Kay apologizes and says she didn't mean to insult her talents, so Hecuba makes Kay's nose shrink back to normal. Kay thanks Hecuba, and asks her for her help. Hecuba says that her help is not free. Kay says she can give her her savings. HEcuba laughs and says she has no need for money! Hecuba tells Kay that it will take her soul if she wants her help. Kay refuses to sell her soul to Hecuba. Hecuba doesn't understand how she can refuse someone with her powers?

On the docks, Ethan and Theresa are dancing, and Theresa says she could spend the rest of her life here with him. Ethan has a better idea, he suggests they go out for a night on the town. Ethan doesn't think it is too late for that date they were supposed to go on, and they have some catching up to do. Theresa asks him what he means? Ethan says that she was threatened by the memories he and Gwen shared, so the only way around that is for them to start making their own memories! Ethan decides to take Theresa to the country club to show her off. Theresa asks him if he wouldn't feel funny? Ethan says of course not, he's proud of her. However, Theresa says she'd rather not go there because the country club is Gwen's turf, and it is a special place for him and Gwen. Ethan suggests the seascape, but Theresa says she's not dressed for it either. Ethan tells her to decide, and she comes up with the perfect place for them to go. Theresa takes Ethan to carnival. Theresa sees a teddy bear she likes, so he attempts to play a game to win it for her.

Luis and Agent Freeman are driving to Washington. He tells Luis that he will have the guys in Quantico make the debriefing as short as possible, and he will be back in Harmony by tomorrow night, and he and Sheridan can pick up right where they left off. Luis says he is counting the minutes. Freeman tells Luis not to worry about Sheridan because she is in good hands with Hank. Luis isn't worried about Hank at all, he's worried that something will pull him and Sheridan apart now that they have gotten close again. Freeman tells him that if two people are meant to be together, then it will happen. Freeman asks Luis out of all the woman he's ever known, what makes her the one? Luis says that is a good question. Freeman recalls that when he first met them they were at one another's throats, and now he's unable to tear them apart. Luis recalls some of his and Sheridan's arguments, and admits that he may have been crazy about her from the start. Later, Luis gets a vibe that something is wrong with Sheridan. He feels she could be in trouble. Freeman tells him that it has been a long day and he should just get some sleep. Luis can't shake this feeling, so he decides to call her.

At the cottage, Hank has his gun pointed at SHeridan. Sheridan thinks this is a joke and tells him to put it away, but Hank says he can't. Sheridan begs him not to do this. WIth tears in his eyes, Hank fires his gun. Sheridan is hit in the chest, and collapses. Hank breaks down and walks over to Sheridan. He kneels beside her and touches her shoulder. She looks at him and asks him why? Hank tells her that he's sorry, but this is the way it had to be. Sheridan says that he thought he was her friend? Hank says there was no way out, he was being blackmailed by the French. Hank tells Sheridan that it was either him or her, and he hates himself for doing this. Sheridan begs Hank to save her and call an ambulance. Hank looks at the phone, but he says he can't.

News interrupted at this point. What follows is what happened after the show returned

At the carnival, Theresa and Ethan have won each other teddy bears. The bears remind Ethan of a teddy bear he had when he was little named Raggs, which Pilar gave to him. Theresa says that momma gave her one just like him. Ethan says they just made another memory that is only theirs. Ethan laughs as he thinks of the look on his father's face if he knew he was here. Ethan says he used to ask his dad if he could go to the carnival as a kid, but he always told him no because he shouldn't be caught dead mingling with the commoners. Theresa asks him if he feels out of place? Ethan says no, and jokes that it makes him wonder if he's really a Crane. Theresa asks him if he really questions if he is a Crane? Ethan asks her if he can blame him considering who his father and grandfather are? Ethan says as a kid he used to think he was kidnapped and left on the doorstep of the mansion. Theresa looks horrified, but he says he was just kidding. He tells her for better or worse, he's a Crane. Theresa says that she doesn't care what his last name is, she loves him for who he is. Ethan walks Theresa home and tells her that tonight was the best, and he opened her up to a whole new world. Theresa and Ethan then share a goodnight kiss. Ethan and Theresa discuss the Luis problem, and Ethan wants to tell Luis about them. Ethan says he's changed his mind about the kind of guy Luis is, so perhaps Luis can change his mind about him? They discuss Luis and Sheridan, and Ethan believes this is the starts of a whole new beginning for all of them.

At the cottage, Pierre and Hank are standing over Sheridan as Luis leaves a message on the answering machine. He wonders where Hank and Sheridan are because they were supposed to be sticking around the cottage! She begs Hank to let her talk to Luis, but he refuses. Sheridan damns Hank! Luis tells the machine that he guesses Sheridan conned Hank into taking her out for ice cream, and he's sure she's okay because she's with his main man. Luis tells Hank to take care of Sheridan for him. Sheridan tries to get to the phone, and as she is about to reach it, Hank fires a bullet into her back! Sheridan falls to the ground and passes out. Pierre congratulates Hank, who keeps moaning "What have I done?" Pierre tells Hank to get a hold of himself and act like a man! Pierre tells him that he did the smart thing, and that they have to get out of here before anyone comes!

Back in the car, Luis gets the vibe that something is still wrong with Sheridan. Luis asks Freeman to turn the car around and return to Harmony. Freeman tells him that nothing is wrong, but Luis says his instincts are never wrong. Luis arrives at the cottage and is stunned when he finds Sheridan on the floor.

At the Bennett's, Eve continues to believe that Chad has ruined some poor young girl's life. TC tells her that she is acting like this is one of their daughters that this has happened to, but they know better than that. Eve tells him that it only takes one little mistake to ruin the rest of one's life, she knows this first hand. TC asks her "from who?" Eve covers and says it was someone she knew a long time ago. TC tells Eve that the difference between that girl and their daughters is that they have her as a role model, and they will turn out just like their mother. Suddenly, Kay comes down the steps! Kay says she tried to find Tiffany's phone number. Simone shouts "I knew it was all a lie!" Sam asks Kay for the truth, did she really hear that Chad got a girl pregnant and abandoned her? Chad shouts that she couldn't because it was all a lie, and then he asks Kay what he did to her to deserve this? Sam tells Kay that he has never been more disappointed in her, and she is in serious trouble. Suddenly, "Tiffany" calls, thanks to Hecuba's doing. During the break Kay and Hecuba did indeed strike a deal! Grace answers the phone and tells Kay that "Tiffany" wants to talk to her.
