Garden Accents
Here are some of the ways I accent my gardens...

:~: Stacked stumps with a concrete bird bath :~:
I had an old plastic birdbath, but water left in it over
the winter caused it to warp and break.
I decided to get some Quick Crete, pour it into the
old birdbath dish, and shaped and formed it
until it would hold its shape. After a couple of
days, I popped it out and placed it on some old stumps.

:~: My "pond" :~:
I dug out a shape, placed in glass block, and then
filled in around the blocks.  I edged with rocks.
It looks great when the sun catches on it.

:~: Stump :~:
I found this one at the city's free wood chip pile.
It makes a wonderful natural element.

:~: Hollow Stump :~:
This makes a great planter!

:~: Pot Holder :~:

:~: Bird Feeder :~:
I found an old table on the curb and decorated
it with a glass butterfly candle holder and
an old birdhouse.

:~: Eclectic Scene :~:
Chair found on the curb.  It was broken in the back, so couldn't be caned
and was too cool to throw away.  So I attached chicken wire to the
seat to hold a pot.  Wash board and bucket were curb cast-offs
which make a nice decoration and planter.  Wicker hearts found at a
yard sale cheap and garden edging is old firewood.  Fence was from
a neighbor and rescued from the curb.

:~: Wind Chime :~:
Made from cast-offs: a decorative
water can, 2 brass pipes, 2 flattened
spoons, buttons, beads, wooden
disc and a sea shell from a Chinese
buffet.

:~: Scarecrow :~:
Birdhouse made from fencing pieces and mounted
on a basic frame.  Clothed with cast-offs, foam
visor, old flip-flops hanging from one arm and a
CD to scare away bunnies on the other.  Also
2 cast-off tiki torches and cast-off edging.

:~: Bowling Ball Sign :~:
Cast-off bowling ball sanded to make rough.
Then sprayed with Kilz, spray paint laying around
the house and painted details with outdoor
craft paint.  Frog cut from soda can, spray-painted,
and mounted on coat hanger wire.

:~: Mailbox :~:
Found on curb and resting on a stump.
I use it to hold my small gardening tools.

:~: Table Centerpiece :~:
Teapot collection with an antique lunch pail makes a fun centerpiece
on the picnic table.
