Ogg Vorbis
Download 13 second Sample Sound

Ogg Vorbis is an excellent new sound compression format--the next MP3. Ogg Vorbis files sound better than mp3s for a given file size, or, alternately, are smaller than mp3s for a given sound quality.

I'm LDS, but you might know me better as a "Mormon". The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a Christian denomination formed around 1830.  If you want a good introduction, go the official site or Jeff Lindsay's site.

Unfortunately, God is rather seclusive as Supreme Beings go, and in my personal experience, it would seem He would prefer not to talk to any of us--perhaps if I had some more faith things would seem different. Anyway, we have a phrase: "search, ponder and pray".  Evidently God meant it in that order.  And so, while I would rather just rely on personal confirmation from the Holy Ghost that the church is true, it is necessary to seek out other sources as well.

The Most Well-Written and Overall Best:

I don't think there is such a thing as a "neutral" site on the subject.

  • Answers that work - Windows power users, frustrated by tedius troubleshooting and all the stuff Windows doesn't tell you... go here. You'll find a library of tips, and explanations for all those programs you see on your process list, links to drivers, and a library of hand-picked useful programs. Mind you, they seem to lack central links to their own pages which is why I supply so many links here.
  • SourceForge.net - An excellent open-source development management site.  Want to create an open-source project, or find other projects to join?  This is the site for you!
  • An excellent GNU philosophy article on what's wrong with copyright. And don't even get me started on patents...
  • Zophar.net - Has it been six years? Yes, yes it has. This web site has seen most of emulation history.
