The main dialog can be divided into four sections as illustrated to the right.

Section 1 controls what sync set you're looking at. The box on the left is the name of the set; if you synchronize more than one set of folders, it's a good idea to give each one a name to tell them apart. Click the left or right arrows to go to the previous and next sync sets; click the up and down arrows to move the current sync set up and down within the list of sets (for example, if the current set is number 2 of 3 and you click the up button, it becomes 1 of 3). You can see the complete list of sync sets by clicking the Sync Sets menu. Click the Options button to edit the options for the current sync set.

Section 2 is the editor for the list of folders to synchronize. Click Add Folder to add a folder to the list; you must have at least two folders listed to perform a synchronization. The check box to the left of each folder controls whether it is enabled; if not, qFileSync synchronizes as though it were not in the list at all. Therefore, the ability to disable a folder is useful only if you've listed three or more folders. Select a folder to modify options specific to it. These options are:

Section 3 shows the filters for the current sync set. Filters specify what files and folders to include or exclude from the sync based on their names. Click here for instructions for making filters.

Section 4 contains the two synchronization buttons. Synchronize synchronizes automatically if the situation permits, but it will bring up the Confirm dialog box if conflicts arise, showing only files with conflicts in the file list. Meanwhile, Interactive Sync always brings up the Confirm dialog box, and shows all files to be synchronized in the file list.
