A man came to the Prophet (pbuh) and said, Oh messenger of Allah the rules of Islam are many. Which of them should we take hold of? The Prophet said, keep your tongue busy with mentioning of Allah.

The Prophet (pbuh) was asked about which of the deeds are better and gets one closer to Allah? He said to die while your tongue is used to mentioning Allah.

Allah said in the Quran: And celebrate the name of thy Lord morning and evening.76:25

And He said: For Muslim men and women, for believing men and women, for devout men and women, for true men and women, for men and women who are patient and constant, for men and women who humble themselves, for men and women who give in charity, for men and women who fast (and deny themselves), for men and women who guard their chastity, and for men and women who engage much in Allah's praise, for them has Allah prepared forgiveness and great reward. 33:35

The Prophet (pbuh) said whoever loves to sit in Paradise let him mention Allah a lot.
This is because each time you mention Allah a tree will be planted for you in Paradise.

In another Hadeeth: Mention Allah as much as you can even if that caused non-believers and hypocrites to say that you are crazy.

In another Hadeeth: Try to get more out of the everlasting good deeds. They asked him and what are these? He said: to say: Allahu Akbar, Subhanallah, Alhamdulelah, la ilaha illa Allah, And La Houwla wala kouwata illa bil'lah.

In another Hadeeth: people who mention Allah are in a higher rank than those who fight against the non-believers.


A story: Prophet Moses (pbuh) said to Allah: You gave me a lot of blessings so show me how to praise and thank you?

Allah said: Oh Moses mentions me all the time then it is as if you are thanking me. And if you forget about me then it is as if you forget my blessings over you.

In a Hadeeth our Prophet (pbuh) said: in the night of ascending to heavens he saw a man in a circle of light. The prophet asked is he an angel? They said no. He said pbuh is he a prophet? They said no. He asked then who is it? They said a man who used to mention Allah a lot and his heart was attached to Masjids, and he used to love and respect his parents.

One of the wise men said: the friend of Allah is the one who loves Allah, and his heart is never free of mentioning Allah and he is never bored from obeying and worshipping Allah.

Abu Hurairah (a companion) had a long rope with thousand knots in it and he would never go to sleep before he mentions Allah and he uses the rope as a rosary.

It was said that a man used to mention Allah 40 thousand times a day. When this man died and they wanted to wash him, he started moving his fingers as he used to do when he mentioned Allah and counted with his fingers.


Al Hassan Al Basri (A follower-after the age of companions) He used to say when he is not busy with something: subhuman Allah al �em (glorified Allah the great). And when scholars knew bout this they said this man is a wise and knowledgeable person because whoever says it 7 times a day Allah will build a house in Paradise for him.

When the Prophet (pbuh) used to pass by a mountain he said to his companions they are successful those who mention Allah.
The reason for that is that this mountain used to mention Allah and the Prophet used to hear it.

Everything mentions Allah even the stones, the birds, the trees and the animals. So we should increase our mentioning of Allah especially for his great blessing on us for making us Muslims.
