Advice From the Prophet
Part 1

The Prophet (pbuh) said: My Lord has advised me with nine advices and I advise you with them

1. To be sincere to Allah: This means that everything you do or say should only be for the sake of Allah. To be sincere in your belief, and in your worship. Allah says in a Qudsi Hadeeth, Sincerity (ikhlass) is one of my secrets I entrust it in the hearts of whom I wish of my servants. The explanation for that is that sincerity is a gift from Allah to a special servant and if it was given to you this is an indication of Allahs love to you.

2. To be just whether you are angry or pleased. Allah says in a Qudsi Hadeeth, Oh my servants I have forbidden injustice upon myself and forbidden you from doing it so dont commit injustice to one another. The explanation for this is that the servant of Allah should be just in his times of anger or pleasantness and not to put judgments on people in these times because he will be unjust to them . if he had to judge someone in such cases he should remember Allahs power over him and to remember this Hadeeth, Allah gives cruel people chances but when He decides to punish them Allah will never leave them. Another Hadeeth our Prophet (pbuh) said, be ware of the Duaa of those who suffer injustice because there is nothing between it and Allah. And this means that Allah will accept his Duaa and he will punish to whom where cruel to him.

3. To be fair in richness and poverty and this means that if you were rich you shouldnt waste your money because one day you might need this money. If you were rich you shouldnt forget to be fair and pay Allahs right in this money whether it was Zakat (obligatory charity) or any other charity. Our Prophet said, He will never be poor he who is fair in spending. If you were poor be fair to yourself by making Duaa to give you the money and be satisfied not angry at what Allah has given you.

4. To forgive those who were unjust to you. This quality is very hard on ones soul and those who have it Allah will make their account in the day of judgement very easy. A story: There was a Jewish lady who placed poison in a lamp which the prophet wanted to eat from and this lamp spoke and told the Prophet that it was poisoned. The companions of the Prophet asked him to kill her but he forgave her and said Allah will punish her for that.

5. Give those who deprive you. This means that if in one of these days you asked someone to help or give you something and they didnt do that. If it happened that they asked you for a favor or help and you were able to give it to them go ahead and help them. The Prophet (pbuh) said, if any body asks you by Allah to help him do help him. And this means that if you were going to get good deeds from helping this person do help him. Another Hadeeth, If you help your brother or sister in Islam it will be better for you than staying in the mosque (Ietikaff) worshipping for ten years.

6. Reach those who cut the ties with you. This means that if you have bad relations with one of your brothers and sisters try many times to work things out between you and him but if that didnt work the bad deeds will be on the other part. In another Hadeeth, No Muslim should cut ties with his brother or sister for more than three days. Another Qudsi Hadeeth, I am the merciful (Rahman) and I created the womb (Rahm) and gave it part of my name whoever reaches him I reach him and whoever cuts ties with him I cut him. This means that you shouldnt cut the ties with other Muslims especially his Muslim family.

7. Let your silence be thinking. Our Prophet (pbuh) said , I advice you to be silent as much as you can it kick Satan away from you and it will help you in your religion. This means that the more you talk the more bad deeds you might get and you might say something that will make Allah angry of you. It would be better for you to be silent except if you were going to say something good or knowledge or mentioning Allah. Another Hadeeth, The prophet said to one of the companions: Do you want me to show the easiest of worship? He replied yes. The Prophet (pbuh) said it Is silence you will never do a good deed better than it. This means that it Is possible that if you talk so much you might do backbiting or lying so choosing silence in such situations gives you the good reward as if you were worshipping Allah.

8. Let your speech be mentioning of Allah. This means that you should mention Allah all the time because when you mention Allah on this life Allah will mention you in the sky as in this Qudsi Hadeeth, Im with my servant as long as he is mentioning me and his lips are mentioning me.

9. Let your seeing of whats around you lessons for you. This means that if you look and watch anything make this be as a lesson for you and remember Allahs power and say (sobhan Allah the greatest, the creator, the one who creates everything.). The Last Hadeeth, dont think of what Allah is, think of what he has created. This means that you shouldnt think of what Allah is but you should think of his creation like the different kind of fruit, the sea, the trees, the sky, the moon, the sunetc. Wa al hamdulellah wa asalato aw assalaam ala rasoul Allah.
