This is a lesson about charity�but it is not the charity that we already know by contributing just an amount of money to the needy and poor. Let�s discover together new kinds of charity.


One of the companions of the Prophet and his name is Abi Thar May Allah be Pleased with him said that a group of the companions of the Prophet pbuh said to the Prophet:

Oh Messenger of Allah the rich and wealthy among us took all the good deeds. They pray as we do, fast as we do, and they pay charity with the extra money they have.

The Prophet pbuh replied, � Didn�t Allah give you what to charities with?�

With every Tasbeeha �to say Subahanallah �Glory be to Allah� you make charity. With every Takbeerah �to say Allahu Akbar-Allah is the greatest�

You make charity. With every Tahmeedah �to say Alhamdulellah-Praise be to Allah� you make charity and with every Thaleelah �to say La illaha illa Allah-No God but Allah � you make charity.

And if you ask people to do well and tell them to abstain from evil is charity. And if you make love to your wife you make charity. They asked him, do you mean that if one of us sleeps with his wife it is considered a charity?

He said pbuh, if he made it unlawfully �committed adultery� would it be considered a sin? They said, Yes. He said, then it is the same as when he makes it legally he is rewarded for it.


The Prophet pbuh said, � Charity is includes all kinds of good deeds and favors until they reach Allah who is in his turn gives charity to his servants.�


The Prophet pbuh said, �whoever used to make optional extra night prayers and one day he slept and didn�t do them, Allah would reward him as if he prayed in addition to the sleep that he got are a charity from Allah upon him.�


The Prophet pbuh said, � no charity is more beloved to Allah than to speak in good things.�


And he said pbuh, �No one day or night passes by until Allah gives charity to whoever He chooses from His servants, and nothing is better for someone than Allah to grant him mentioning Him.�


Ibn Omar (a companion) said, whoever has money let him give charity from it, and whoever has food let him give charity from it, and whoever has knowledge let him give charity from it.


The Prophet pbuh said, � the best of charity is the charity of the tongue.� He was asked and how is that? He said, �If you make intercession in order to free a prisoner, save people from bloodshed, and to prevent harm and to do good favor and charity to your brother.�


One of the companions said, to cry from the fear of Allah is better for me than to pay my weight as gold for charity.



Kinds of charities:


1. To smile in your brother�s face is a charity.

2. Not to harm Muslims and defending them is charity.

3. To ask people to do well and abstain from evil.

4. To make Duaa (supplication) and Isteghfar �ask for repentance� for yourself and nation.

5. Stop making sins.

6. Learning and teaching the Quran.

7. Removing harm from the roads and pathways of Muslims.

8. Helping other Muslims.

9. Spending on your Family.

10. Lawful earning.

11. To remind yourself of your sins and repenting from them.


The Prophet pbuh said, � Your spending on your family is charity, and what your wife eats is charity, and what you feed yourself is charity, and what you feed to your servant is charity.�


And he said pbuh, � Whenever a Muslim plants a plant then he eats from is considered charity. Anything stolen from it is charity, any animal eats from it is charity and when anybody eats from it is charity.�
