Arguments of the Jews
and Forms of Their Stubborness
From the first moment Islam emerged on earth, Jews started to act hostile to it and its people. From the first year of the Prophet migration to Madinah and when signs of Islam and the dignity of its people began to appear the hypocrisy of the Jews and the atheists began to appear. The Madinah turned into a field of internal struggle as a result of that.
Some of the Jews accepted Islam in public just to try to deceive the Prophet and his companions and some of the Muslims were fooled by these hypocrites and even tried to be friends to them so Allah revealed:
Say those without knowledge: "Why speaketh not Allah unto us? Or why cometh not unto us a Sign?" So said the people before them words of similar import. Their hearts are alike. We have indeed made clear the Signs unto any people who hold firmly to Faith (in their hearts). 5:57
Some of them used to twist his tongue when he speaks to the Prophet then he slandered Islam and accused it of deformity so Allah said about that in the Quran:
Hast thou not turned thy vision to those who were given a portion of the Book? They traffic in error, and wish that ye should lose the right path. But Allah hath full knowledge of your enemies: Allah is enough for a Protector, and Allah is enough for a Helper. 4:44-45
These kinds of Jews declared Islam apparently but deep within their hearts they were not and their aims behind that were:
To try to deceive Muslims and cause fights among them.
To try to divert those who had weak belief to bounce back from Islam.
To try to spy on Muslims and stand in the way of the spread of the message in order for it not to stand in the way of their alleged dream and that is the kingdom that stretches from the Nile river to the Furat river in Iraq.
Their envy to the Arabs because Prophet hood was transformed to them.
Some of them openly stood and argued against Islam. From their arguments was by one of them who said to the prophet pbuh, Oh Muhammad if you were a messenger from Allah as you say then let Allah speak to us to hear his words so Allah said in the Quran:
Say those without knowledge: "Why speaketh not Allah unto us? Or why cometh not unto us a Sign?" So said the people before them words of similar import. Their hearts are alike. We have indeed made clear the Signs unto any people who hold firmly to Faith (in their hearts). 2:118
Others argued saying to the Prophet pbuh, how do you want us to follow you when you have diverted from our Qiblah (direction) and you dont believe that Uzair (Izra) is the son of God? Allah replied on them in the Quran:
The Jews call 'Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the Unbelievers of old used to say. Allah's curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth! 9:30
Others said Oh Muhammad tell us when it is the time of the Judgement day if you were really a Prophet so Allah replied to them:
They ask thee about the (final) Hour, when will be its appointed time? Say: "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord (alone): none but He can reveal as to when it will occur. Heavy were its burden through the heavens and the earth. Only, all of a sudden will it come to you." They ask thee as if thou wert eager in search thereof: say: "The knowledge thereof is with Allah (alone), but most men know not." 7:187
Others came to the Prophet pbuh to challenge him and when he spoke to them he told them to fear Allah and his punishments. They said dont frighten us we are Children of Allah and his most beloved. Allah answered them:
(Both) the Jews and the Christians say: "We are sons of Allah, and His beloved." Say: "Why then doth He punish you for your sins? Nay, ye are but men, of the men He hath created: He forgiveth whom He pleaseth, and He punisheth whom He pleaseth: and to Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between: and unto Him is the final goal (of all)." 5:18
Others came to argue and said,
Dont you claim Oh Muhammad that you are following Ibraheems (Abraham) religion and creed and that you believe in the Tourat and that it came from God? He said yes but you invented things that are not from it and also hid things that Allah took your oath on showing them to people and I am innocent from your inventions.
They said we will not believe except with what we have and we will never believe in you so Allah said:
Say: "O People of the Book! Ye have no ground to stand upon unless ye stand fast by the Law, the Gospel, and all the revelation that has come to you from your Lord. "It is the revelation that cometh to thee from thy Lord, that increaseth in most of them their obstinate rebellion and blasphemy. But sorrow thou not over (these) people without Faith. 5:68
Others said, Oh Muhammad dont yo9u know that there is another God with Allah?
He said pbuh, There is only one God and this is what I was sent with and I ask others to that.
Allah said:
Say: "What thing is most weighty in evidence?" Say: "Allah is witness between me and you; this Qur-an hath been revealed to me by inspiration. That I may warn you and all whom it reaches. Can ye possibly bear witness that besides Allah there is another God?" Say: "Nay! I cannot bear witness!" Say: "But in truth He is the One God, and I truly am innocent of (your blasphemy of) joining others with Him." Those to whom We have given the Book know this as they know their own sons. Those who have lost their own souls refuse therefore to believe. 6:19-20
Some of them came arguing:
If Allah has created the creation who then created Allah? The Prophet became so angry and wanted to fight them for his Lord but Gabriel came to him and cooled him down and revealed the answer of what they asked about:
Say: He is Allah, the One and Only; Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him.112: 1-4
These were examples of their cunning and deceit at the time of the Prophet. These arguments reveal the inside of Jews and allow us to understand their way of thinking.
Of course in our times their ways have changed a bit but still their aims and goals are the same.
