By the name of Allah the Merciful the Compassionate
Quran Lessons
We talked in our previous story about the story of Adam and Eve and the first sin they committed in heavens. And we said that the difference between them and satan is that they did not insist on what they have done and asked Allah for Forgiveness while satan insisted on his disobedience so he deserved the curse of Allah and mortality in Hell. The reason behind satans insistence on his sin is pride and arrogance and any one who feels that he is better than others by color, race, wealthetc is mainly imitating satan in the first place. * * * * * * *

THE STORY OF ADAM'S SONS
This is why our scholars have said about sins that there is no major sin if there was repentance afterwards and every minor sin is a major one if one insisted on doing it.
We also mentioned how Adam and His wife were sent down to earth and they lived and Allah gave them a lot of offspring. In the Quran:
O mankind! Reverence your Guardian-Lord, who created you from a single Person, created, of like nature, his mate, and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women; fear Allah, through Whom ye demand your mutual (rights), and (reverence) the wombs (that bore you): for Allah ever watches over you.
And in the most correct narration it was mentioned that Adam lived one thousand years and a lot of offspring came out of him that according to Israeli narration reached 40.000 persons. And in narrating from Israeli sources our prophet pbuh asked us not to believe or disbelieve in them.
But for sure a lot of humans came out of Adam and Hawaa (Eve). The first of their Sons is Kabeel and Allah mentioned the story of Kabeel with his brother Habeel in the Quran.
The story can be narrated in that Kabeel had roughness and harshness in his nature while Habeel had leniency and tenderness in his. Kabeel worked in faring while Habeel used to work in sheep raising and this job requires mercy and compassion in dealing with animals.
Humanity was in need for a different law in order to increase and produce. In our time it is forbidden for a brother to marry his sister but at that time they were all brothers and sisters.
Their law was that a brother could marry any of his sisters except his twin sister.
The sister of Habeel was so close to him but she had less beauty than Kabeels sister did. Kabeel didnt like his beautiful twin sister with his brother Habeel and wanted to marry her himself but this was forbidden upon them by Adam. And Adam was a Prophet of Allah. Kabeel didnt like this law.
Another law at that time was presenting sacrifices to Allah. And the sacrifice was a gift presented to Allah almighty and it is like Al-Hadyee in our religion (the animals we sacrifice for the sake of Allah though their meat goes to the poor and needy).
If Allah accepted ones sacrifice at that time He will send fire from the sky to consume that sacrifice.
At time of sacrifice Habeel presented one of his finest animals as sacrifice for the sake of Allah but Kabeel presented rotten plants as his sacrifice.
The second day they found that Habeels sacrifice was accepted while Kabeels one was not.
So Kabeel became more angry and agitated from his brother.
Satan started to whisper to him and told him to kill his brother. So he went and told his brother, I am going to kill you. Habeel replied, if you are going to kill me Im not going to defend myself and youll get more sins in addition to what you already have.
In a dark night and while Habeel was asleep, Kabeel brought a huge rock and smashed his brothers head by it and killed him. The first crime in history, the murder of Habeel on the hands of his brother Kabeel but he got confused on what to do with his brothers corpse.
This was the first time one of them had ever died and they didnt know what to do with dead people. Then he carried his brothers body on his shoulders and started to walk carrying it without knowing what to do. At that time Allah sent two ravens and they fought against each other until one of them got killed. Then the raven that was still alive started to dig into the ground and buried the other bird then covered the hole again. So Kabeel learned how to bury his brother and got very sorry for what hes done, but he didnt ask Allah for forgiveness. Accepted repentance needs more than just remorse it needs to ask Allah for forgiveness on it in addition.
In this story, Allah mentioned what happened between Habeel and Kabeel:
Recite to them the truth of the story of the two sons of Adam. Behold! they each presented a sacrifice (to Allah): it was accepted from one, but not from the other. Said the latter: "Be sure I will slay thee." "Surely," said the former, "Allah doth accept of the sacrifice of those who are righteous. "If thou dost stretch thy hand against me, to slay me, it is not for me to stretch my hand against thee to slay thee: for I do fear Allah, the Cherisher of the Worlds. For me, I intend to let thee draw on thyself my sin as well as thine, for thou wilt be among the Companions of the Fire, and that is the reward of those who do wrong. The (selfish) soul of the other led him to the murder of his brother: he murdered him, and became (himself) one of the lost ones. Then Allah sent a raven, who scratched the ground, to show him how to hide the shame of his brother. "Woe is me!" said he; "Was I not even able to be as this raven, and to hide the shame of my brother?" Then he became full of regrets.
It was narrated by the Prophet pbuh, That no crime that happens and an innocent person gets killed unjustly part of this crimes sin goes upon the first son of Adam (Kabeel) because he was the first to commit killing and take it as a way.
This is because he was the first one to start such a way and whoever does a bad thing and people follow him and imitate him in doing so he will get its bad deed and the bad deeds of those who followed him until the day of judgement.
After He committed his murder he ran away and didnt want to face Adam and took his wife along with him and went to live in the plains because Adam lived close to the mountains. Kabeels offspring began to increase and sins and corruption spread among them and disobedience to Adams legislation.
Life went on and people spread into two kinds. People of evil with Kabeel and people of good with Adam and his other sons. Adam lived 960 years because 40 years were taken out of his life.
This was mentioned in a lot of Ahadeeth (plural of Hadeeth) that the Prophet pbuh said, When Allah created Adam He wiped on his back and took out his offspring until the day of Judgement and made between each ones eyes a ray of light then he showed them to Adam. Adam said Oh my Lord, who are these? Allah replied, these are your offspring. Adam saw a man from among those and he liked the brightness of the light between his eyes so he asked Allah about him and Allah told him that this is a man from among the last of nations of your offspring and he is called Dawoud (David). Adam asked Oh my Lord and how many years did you give him to live? Allah replied 60 years. Adam said Oh my Lord give him from my years 40 years.
So Allah did that. Then when Adams years passed by the angel of death came to him and he was at that time 960 years old. But Adam knew that he is going to live 1000 years so he told the angel of death I still have 40 years remaining. He replied didnt you give them to your son Dawoud. Our Prophet pbuh said, So Adam denied that and so did his offspring and he forgot and so did his offspring and he was mistaken and so were his offspring. He forgot and denied that this happened to him. Forgetting in Arabic is (Nisian) and thats why man was called human (Insan) because he forgets a lot.
Before Adams death he assigned his son Sheeth and Sheeth is a son that Allah gave to Adam after Habeels death. And Sheeth means (the gift of Allah).
In the correct Hadeeth Abu Zar said that the Prophet pbuh said, Allah sent to earth 104 books, 50 of them were sent upon Sheeth. Containing laws and rules to organize peoples lives. Adam taught Sheeth most of what he knew but not all of it, and he became a knowledgeable person and started to teach people civilization, industry, calculations of day and night, worshipetc.
One of the companions of the Prophet pbuh, and he was called Obai bin Kaab, said that when Adams time of death came he desired to eat one of the fruits of Jennah (paradise). The fruits of Jennah are similar to those we have on earth but fruits of earth rot and spoil whereas those in Jennah do not. The fruit of life tastes usual while the fruits of Jennah taste of luxury and blessings.
So they went to search for some fruits for him to eat and on the way they met the angels carrying Al-Akfan (coffins) and Al-Hanoot (kind of Henna with a nice perfume) and carrying tools of burial and fixing of the dead.
The angels asked oh sons of Adam what is it that you want? They said our father is sick and he desires some of the fruit of Jennah - angels used to come to them in human form. The angels said go back because your fathers time of death has come. When they came to Adams place, Hawaa (Eve) knew them so she stood between them and Adam not wanting him to die. Adam said to her go away from me. You are the one that made me eat from the forbidden tree so let go of me to the angels of my Lord.
So the angel of death took his soul and the angels washed him, wrapped him with a coffin, perfumed him, prayed upon him and then buried him. Then they said oh sons of Adam this is your Sunna (way of dealing with the dead).
Adam never disobeyed Allah except once (in heavens). Hawaa died after him with one year. Sheeth took over after him and started ruling with justice and good but evil and corruption spread among the people of Kabeel and they started to kill from each other and from those who pass by them.
The men of the people of the mountains had pretty faces but the women were not so pretty while the women of the plains were beautiful but the men were not.
Satan started to work and he came to a man from the plains in an image of a boy and started to work and serve him. This boy started to teach them singing and music and brought something like the flute and started to play for the people. People of the mountains started to hear about that so they went down to them to hear that new sound.
People of Kabeel made a feast in a day of the year. In this day women decorated themselves for the men. People of the mountains began to look at the women of the plains and got seduced. Some of the men of the mountains began to mingle with the women of the plains though it was forbidden to mingle with the people of the plains in Sheeths legislation. One of the men of the mountains who went down to the people of the plains got back and told other men about the beauty of the women of the plains.
So they went down to them in time of feast and adultery started among them and this was the starting of Zinna (adultery). Ibn Abbass (one of the companions of the prophet pbuh who was called the interpreter of the Quran) said that this is the interpretation of the verse in the Holy Quran:
And stay quietly in your houses, and make not a dazzling display, like that of the former Times of Ignorance: and establish Regular Prayer, and give Regular Charity; and obey Allah and His Messenger. And Allah only wishes to remove all abomination from you, ye Members of the Family, and to make you pure and spotless.
This was he first ignorance on earth. Sheeth worked hard to prevent whats happening but evil spread and the people of evil started to increase while people of good began to decrease and this remained until the coming of Idrees pbuh.
