STORYLINE: In the final days of World War II, the Nazis attempt to use black magic to aid their dying cause. The Allies raid the camp where the ceremony is taking place, but not before a demon - Hellboy - has already been conjured. Joining the Allied forces, Hellboy eventually grows to adulthood, serving the cause of good rather than evil. He also has a taste for Baby Ruths, loves cats, and unleashes many witty comments. MY REVIEW: I'm going to keep this review sweet and simple. Hey, I just did it. The movie is, easily put, sweet and simple. Here's the list of what to expect:
That's what to expect with this movie, and whether you like any of those things written above is completely up to you. I was dissapointed with over-excessive amount of CGI, but that's just me. I like the old fassioned "everything's real" aspect to action movies. Although, it looks so good that I didn't even care it was CGI, even though that just knowing something is real makes it feel cooler. Just seeing Hellboy on screen was enough to make me enjoy this movie, which also explains my rating. I love Mike Magnola's (the creator of the Hellboy comic) work, and this adaptation to the screen proves worthy of the Hellboy name. If you enjoyed a number of past comic books turned movies, then you will be sure to enjoy this fully loaded action adventure. It's one to behold.
