Solution: After reconstructing all the appointments, the first thing to notice is that there are twelve appointments all starting at a different hour (1-12). Also, the appointment names each follow the same pattern. They start with a single character, then there are one or more sets of "B" or "F" followed by a number. After ordering the appointments by start time (1-12), and breaking the names down into their parts, one gets the following:

After realizing that "F" and "B" stand for Forward and Back, one can start at 1:00 (as in the instructions) and follow the instruction to move to the next time (ex. Forward 2 from 1:00 is 3:00, then Forward 4 is 7:00, then Back 1 is 6:00). For the letters with more than one instruction, these times are visited more than once and a new instruction is used each time (ex. The second time 7:00 is visted, one should move Back 2 to 5:00). Following each instruction once will create a path from 1:00 all the way to 10:00. If one reads the letters at each time visited, one gets: CRAYOLA-?-MANILOW. The nine-letter answer to this clue is Cranberry (CRAYON + BARRY).
