Shorter Way to Say It

Solution: First thing to notice is that the number of words is equal to the number of black dots below the words. So, as suggested by the figures, we can first find 6 groups of three words each - one word combined with a pair of words. For example, compining the pair of words "Pass" and "Out", we get "Pass out". A shorter way to say that is another word in the list, "Faint". The other 5 sets are:
Made Up = Fake
Back Bone = Spine
Soft Drink = Pop
Kill Time = Wait
Take Part = Join
The remaining five words, "Word" "Third" "Each" "Start" "Of", can be strung together to form the phrase "Start of each third word". If we go through the original word list, taking the first letter of every third word, we get "SMTWTFS". How long will this take? The solution: "One week".
