Psalm 37:3-7
Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring [it] to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him."
For those of you who may not be aware, Winston and I experienced some difficulties over the last few years as a couple. For us, it went a little further than that, actually. We separated for a period of 3 years. During that time, God taught me in particular many lessons and I know Winston would say the same. He brought us back together almost 5 years ago now on June 19th, 2000!
During our long time of separation, God had to work on my heart in particular about the issue of trusting and committing things to Him and more importantly leaving them in His ever-capable hands. They weren't easy things to let go of but I had to learn to say "Lord, these situations are strange and impossible but only You can do what is needed to sort them out." I had to take my hands off the wheel. He has and continues to do the needed "sorting out" each day for us. For both of us, we had to learn to let unimportant things go, and see what really mattered. God keeps teaching us things and daily I have to lay my struggles and worries before His throne.
As a result of all of these lessons, God has given me opportunities to share with others who are in periods of struggle in their lives whatever they may be. I am so blessed to be able to share some of the things God alone has done. Remember, whenever you or someone around you is going through struggle, heartache or loss and you are affected, it is for your growth, too. God wants the opportunity to do something in their life AND yours during those hard times...something that has to be done completely by Him if He will get the glory for it that others will see. In the process of working in their lives, He wants to grab your heart about something, too. If you would like to know more, I'll be happy to write you if there is something I can do to encourage you by what God has done for us.
The final chapter to our story hasn't been written yet.
While our time back together was difficult at the beginning, I am amazed at the changes God has brought in both of us even in that time.
We are stubborn sometimes and have to learn lessons again though, too. I am so thankful! He is still working on us and especially for me lately in the matters of obedience to Him and loving Him.
Update, April, 2005: God has recently turned
Winston's heart to Himself in a new way he has never experienced before.
God surprises me more each day. Winston is now taking over his
Godly role as head of our home by God's grace and of course the Lord is
working on me, too! God is restoring our relationship to a beautiful
testament to Him as we come together before Him. Thank you so much to
those who prayed for us all these years! You helped give me the
courage to trust in the Lord for an unbelievable miracle from His heart
to ours. Please continue to pray for us
and we hope this has encouraged you in some small way. If we can pray
for you, too, please let us know. This page brought to you by YahooGeocities. Graphics and webpage creation © Virginia Churchill, 2001-2003. |
