Wayne was born in Bremen, Indiana, on October 26, 1949. As a preacher's son, he spent his early years in Indiana, Missouri, and finally Ohio, where he graduated from Monroe Central High School, West Manchester, in 1967. In the fall of 1966, he met a very special girl, Linda, at their local hometown drug store soda shop. They were married on Valentines Day, February 14, 1969. Today, they have two wonderful daughters, two sons-in-law, and two grandsons.

Wayne served 10 years in the United States Air Force as a Telecommunications Technician and was honorably discharged in October 1979 when he moved to a small 21 acre farm, near Hillsboro, Ohio, with Linda and their daughter, Kelly. In 1983, they moved to Richardson, Texas, where their youngest daughter, Sarah, was born, and Wayne began working for Northern Telecom (Nortel Networks).

Wayne became a Christian while living in Del City, Oklahoma, in 1978. He and Linda are members of The Heights Baptist Church of Richardson, where some friends from church invited them to take Square Dance lessons. They graduated Basic/Mainstream lessons in June, 1992, under the capable instruction of the late Mr. Guy Poland.

Wayne "called" his first singing call in the spring of 1993, but didn't get serious about calling until September, 1996, when he "audited" a set of lessons, with Jay Miller, for the Stone Steppers. In 1997, he "assisted" Jay with lessons for the Stone Steppers. Then, in 1998 and 1999, he taught his first two complete sets of Basic/Mainstream lessons, once again for the Stone Steppers - the one club that has been most instrumental in helping and encouraging him to become a Square Dance Caller.

On June 30th, 2004, Wayne was upgraded from Associate to Full Member status of NTCA, the North Texas Callers Association. In addition to performing Square Dance Parties for numerous private and civic organizations, calling at the State Fair of Texas, and Old City Park in Dallas, he has served as Guest Caller for numerous clubs throughout the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

Wayne currently calls for a new club, The Rockwall Squares. They dance in the Community Center at Harry Meyers Park, 815 E. Washington, Rockwall, TX (Dallas MAPSCO page 20C-R), on each 1st and 3rd Monday, from 7:30 - 9:30 PM. If you're in the area, please drop in and enjoy a dance with them. They would love to have you join the fun.

Wayne looks forward to calling for the square dancers of North Texas and beyond for many years to come. His goal as a Caller, is to be instrumental in making Square Dancing one of America's favorite pastimes.
