Mist swirls about, parting like a curtain as you walk through, and closing behind you with an almost-audible sigh. This place is ephemeral, and solid objects appear wraithlike and abstract, and looking at them, it seems that you can put a hand through them and they won't be solid at all....
.... and then you get a feeling that you are being watched; eyes that are following your every movement. You turn around to look for the source, but see none. You are just about to call out to the hidden watcher, when it appears so suddenly that your heart skips a beat in shock. Standing right in front of you is a gray shape, its form almost blending in perfectly with the silvery mist until it is almost part of it. You can't make out what creature it is, with the mist blurring its edges -- it seems almost wraithlike. Until you notice its eyes... narrow purple slits looking at you out of a indistinct face.
You stare at it, and it stares back at you, unblinking. The only thing that seems to hint of its mortal nature is that it doesn't float or drift like a wraith, but remains still. Finally, the apparition composes itself into a rakish mare, mane floating about her shoulders like a nebulous wisp. For a long time she watches until the point you can almost feel her gaze drilling a hole into you -- then she says seven words:
"I am Keijimasu. The end is coming."
-- And the apparition is gone, and you are left alone once again with a strange feeling in the pit of your stomach....
