The silence of Kivuli Jungle is broken now and again as you run into the vegetation that seems to grow haphazardly in all directions. You push through the heavy undergrowth, narrowly missing the huge trunk of a tree. Confounding mist! If only it would go away and you could see even half of what is in front of you!
At first you think it's the wind, but then you hear a faint murmuring of voices in the distance, quickly coming toward you. Relieved that there is finally something that can guide you, you make as fast as you possibly can toward the voices. Soon, the sources materialize from the mist: two almost-identical calico leagi, arguing heatedly, but both start and halt in surprise upon seeing you. The black-maned one quickly recovers, exclaiming: "Look! A traveller!" and rushes toward you.
"Oh. You're a gryphon, not a felid," he says in disappointment. The other follows more sedately and flicks the white mane from her face. "Of course Rakeesh," she says sarcastically. "Gryphons are half felid. Oh, why didn't you know that earlier, bird-brain?"
Rakeesh shrugs and rolls his eyes. "Meet Shakra, my twin sister," he says with equal sarcasm. "I'll tell you a secret, gryphon: She's even less of a felid than even you are. Just look at her!" He makes tsk-tsking sounds and shakes his head in disdain. Shakra's blue eyes widen in indignance. "I am NOT! I'm your twin sister; if I'm less than felid, that means you are too!" she protests.
"Oh yeah? Which of us is the leader of Grimmorph's exclusively-feline pri~erd? Huh? You tell me!!" Rakeesh shoots back, his eyes sparking in challenge. The twins begin to bicker and soon wander off, arguing just as heatedly as they were when you first met them. You shake your head as you continue aimlessly wandering; If all leagi were like the twins, you wouldn't quite want to meet them....
