Wandering through the confuddling tangle of Kivuli Jungle can really be tiresome, and you are more than prepared to give up trying to push through the undergrowth to collapse on the ground and take a rest. Furthermore, the sheer population of leagi that dwell here is more than enough to make a poor gryphon's head spin -- and yours is already merrily whirling like a top.

Reaching a slightly larger clearing, you do just that: collapse on the ground and put your head into your claws. So weary are you that you start violently when you hear a chuckle overhead and feel a presence fall over you. The creature takes a step backward to avoid your jerk, a friendly -- though rather dark -- smile wreathed on her draconic face. "Good evening weary traveller. Sanguine is my name, and I see you've stopped at my home for a rest, have you?"

Finally: A friendly inhabitant who isn't a leagus! Without thinking clearly and almost to breaking point, you begin to pour out all your woes, troubles and complaints about uncaring and self-absorbed fools of leagi to Evening Shadows, who listens without uttering a word, a bemused smile still lingering on her face. When the tirade finally ends and you have nothing more to say, she nods knowingly and smirks. "I get your point, gryphon, and I totally understand what you are feeling. Furthermore, I personally know what they would feel as well. We may look different, but our minds would all think the same about your words."

Sanguine gives you a rather pointed glare with her ruby eyes, before turning away. "If you weren't so dead-beat I would've been harsher, but I'll let you off lightly now. Remember, please don't offend leagi in the face, would you?" She smirks and, with a flick of her tail, takes her leave. Only then does your numbed and blurred mind register that Sanguine HAD been a leagus after all. OH CRAP.
