Even though gryphons are reputed to have sharper-than-eagle vision, the mist isn't doing it any good, rendering your superior vision all but useless. You squint into the gloom; the darkness of the sky isn't any great help either. Rats, don't you wish it were day and the mist would all dissipate away! You mutter complaints and grumbles under your breath as you wander through Kivuli Jungle, searching desperately for some familiar landmark.
Finally! you see it! a light in the distance!! Sighing in abject relief, you hurry toward it -- wait, haven't you already been hurrying toward for at least ten minutes? The light doesn't seem to get any nearer, almost as if it were moving away from you. Tired yet unwilling to give up this glimmer of hope, you pursue the light onward, oblivious to where you are going.
You're so absorbed in the chase that you don't quite notice that the lights are growing in size -- until you all but run into them. Oh wait: You blink as a leagus stallion materializes into your vision, stretched languidly on a dry patch of the jungle floor. Were they his eyes after all?! "Yes, you've been following me," the stallion says, grinning mischieviously. "Now you're hopelessly lost! Heheheheh," he laughs and rolls about, as you stare at him disappointedly.

"Well, now that you're here, I mightaswell introduce myself: I'm Glow of the Granite Cliff. If you wander long enough you'll find the rest of my Pri~erd and our daughter, though I say ours, because her actual mother and father left the jungle a month ago. Ah, don't worry! There is a way out of Kivuli Jungle, you just hafta find it. I don't know the way myself, so I can't help you." Night of the Solar Flare shrugs, but his bright eyes smile warmly to you. "Don't worry! Kivuli isn't all that bad, once you get used to the mist and the humidity. Quite peaceful, actually. I wouldn't mind having you as a neighbour, either!"
Unfortunately, you have no immediate plans of becoming a permanent feature of the Isle. Night shrugs again. "Suit yourself. Just telling you that Kivuli is big, so you'll be searching for a long time. Now, I'll leave you. Happy hunting!" The stallion winks at you with a shimmering eye as you back out of the clearing and make your way onward. Better to start now than never...
