Finally... a change of scenery. You emerge from the dense and monotonous undergrowth (that seems to never end) and into an open clearing. The wind is stronger here and ruffles your feathers this way and that, blowing the clouds from the night sky as if drawing a curtain open. The light of the moons is suddenly bright and glaring, illuminating the ground in a bluish light, and you suddenly feel very exposed and vulnerable.

That thought is soon driven from your mind as the moonlight falls upon a pale blue leagus -- no, a very white leagus. In fact he's of no other color at all, so the moonlight bathes him in an irridescent glow and makes him look almost blue. The stallion doesn't seem to notice you as you approach, but he then turns his slender head toward you, and his ruby eyes are contemplative.

"Hmmm, a gryphon I see. Welcome, I'm Malkavian. And I won't insult your intelligence by telling you what species I am." Malkavian looks you up and down as if making a mental note of you, then shrugs and turns back to his star-watching. "Look, there's the moon." He points to it, as if assuming you hadn't noticed it. "It's known as the Spirit of the One, although I don't know why. But I'm looking into it. Bryar history it is, even tho' I've studied it a lot, I don't quite understand it. Must be living in the Jungle so much. They have a deity, see, called Tahinor, who's in charge of Kivuli Jungle or something. Hmm, yes. That's right. It'll be great to leave this place one day, and go wander about the other lands. Living here, does get boring once in awhile. I'm glad to see you," -- he suddenly points to you -- "because all I see is fellow leagi all the time. Gryphons do bring a fresh change to this place."

Malkavian smiles at you, and you feel better -- but just. The stallion returns to his monologous musing, and, realizing that he's all but forgotten you, you quietly slink away, back into the gloom of the Jungle.
