Dear Lord, hear we see it again, this cancer and breast cancer spirit running rampart in our area Lord.  Lord even before I life up Becca to you, I pray that your hand will motivate those who must face this malady to join forces, to share information and to love and support one another.  Honeywell could benefit from starting an ERG for Cancer Challenged Individuals.  All are being touch by this evil Lord I lost my own mother to the cancer and the treatment.  Lord we lift up Becca Lucas to you and her whole family.  You are the creator and manufacturer of her broken body and you can knit it back together via your resurrection powers
and restore her body and forgive her sins.
Lord, fortify this family as they pull together, give everyone including Becca, the will to endure, fight and stand errect in your power.
Cause them to be comforted by friends.   Cause them to believe
and trust in you whole-heartedly and without reservations.
In Jesus' name we pray believing, amen.
Prayer Update:
June 14, 2001
Hi everyone
Becca finished up the radiation therapy last Friday, so she is done with all of the treatment for the cancer.  The radiation went well and she did not have any problems with it.  She continues to get a little stronger each week.  Beccas mother left yesterday for her home in North Dakota.  She was a tremendous help taking care of the boys.  The boys will now be in day care, but it will be very difficult for a while without her help.

Last weekend Becca and I left everyone to go up to Flagstaff by ourselves for three days.  We had a great time!  The weekend was paid for by the generosity of Beccas school, the staff, parents, and students.  They have all helped us so much through this.  In addition to raising money to pay for Beccas Mayo Clinic bills, and bringing us food, and countless other things, they also raised money just to give to us.  First graders were emptying their piggy banks and just giving it to us.  We are so humbled and overwhelmed by this out pouring of love.

Since biking is one of Beccas favorite things to do, we spent the weekend riding easy mountain bike trails.  We stayed at the Little America resort, and were able to ride our bikes right out of the room onto the trails in the forest. I also dropped Becca off at the top of the Snow Bowl road, so she could ride all the way down to the highway.  She went racing down the hill!  It was so good to see Becca laugh, smile and have a good time.

Now that the cancer treatment is over, there is still no way to tell if it worked.  If Becca can go 5 to 7 years without any cancer, then there is a good chance that it worked and she is in remission.  But if the cancer ever comes back, then it is usually terminal.  This is a difficult way to live your life, but there is a silver lining.  We cherish every second with each other, every second with our boys.  Now we understand what is important, what is not, and take nothing for granted.  It taught me compassion and generosity.   And we are now closer to the Lord.  Through all of this, the Lord has blessed us in so many ways, and He has guided us through this whole ordeal.  And, so many people have helped in countless ways.  Please pray for Becca that The Lord plans a long and healthy life for her.
Thank you and God Bless you,

Mark
