| Well, I got a new video. It is made by Flexdex. The video is called "Road FX" and is pretty good. This video really captures the longboard spirit. It starts out with a bunch of guys skating. They are just cruzin and carvin down hills, and through the neighborhood.
The riders aren't particularly good, but they all have their own style, and it really has the feel of a mellow session. Flexdex skateboards are designed for carving. Their salespitch highlights the fact that the board is flexible and has that cruzing feel. The video has some shortboard sections too.
This video is better than other "longboard" videos because the short board section is small compared to the longboarding. |

| Not only does this video have skateboarding, but it has other stuff too. There is surfing, motorcross, wakeboarding and snowboarding. The surfing section is pretty good, and so are the others. It is kind of cool to have a little break from skating sequences when it is good footage.
There is a pretty cool section where they are on the freeway, a la "Rollin'" by Sector 9. There are some other ideas pilfered from various skatevids, but that gives the video more of an old school feel. |

There also is a great luge section. I have only seen a little luge, but this is real good. They set up the camera on a real sharp turn and got some great shots. There also is a luge cam and you get a good shot of the rider's viewpoint. Even thought the skating footage is good, the video overall is kind of cheesy. I was not too impressed by the soundtrack either. Also the shots of the "boss" are kind of cheesy too. |
All and all the video is pretty good. There is some real good longboard shots, of true longboard style. The luge section really captures what luge is all about. It looks real fun! I like the motorcross, wakebording and snowboard footage also but of course, I would rather see more skating. All and all, I would give it a 8.5 out of 10. |
