The SniperII is the best rec-ball gun out there, even though it may seem like "just a pumpgun." In my eyes, a good player with a good pumpgun can compete well with all the "high tech" guns out there by simply playing smart. Playing pump means being aware, and most pump players are much more likely to do just that, as well as to aim at what there firing at. Remember, this is paintball, and the old timers' adage still rings true: "One Shot, One Kill." |

-Very, very, VERY upgradeable. Most aftermarket parts for the autococker (the Sniper's younger brother) will fit very well on the Sniper, but watch out, you could end up playing with quite an expensive little toy!
-Very versatile. The Sniper II (not the Sniper III) can be used with a remote, vertical bottle, bottomline, or, how I like it, with a reg in the vertical port and a CO2 mount P-stock on the grip.
-Easy to clean. Like an autococker, the bolt slides right out when you remove a push-pin, and you see through the entire gun. Just slide a squeegee through and you're done.
-Sturdy Feel. Some people say that it's too big, but I like the strong, sturdy feel of the gun.
-Extremely accurate. Maybe it's the closed bolt. (Take it outside, guys) Even with the stock barrel, this is an incredibly accurate marker.
-Smooth action. Sniper II's have some of the smoothest actions of any pumps, I think even smoother than the Sterling. The Sniper III's, however, just plain suck, with the pump around the barrel, etc., I just don't know what Bud was thinking!!!!!
-The trigger can be set very, VERY fine. We're talking hair trigger here...
-It's just so damn cool!!! :) |

-The stock barrel is LOUD! This can be helped by buying a good aftermarket barrel with lots of porting.
-It's big and heavy. I like it, but it gets kindof old having to lug the thing around all the time. This can be fixed with planning, money (in other words, lighter components), and some creative milling work.
-No autotrigger. Some say this is a con, but to me it just defeats the purpose of playing pump altogether. Besides, I haven't known the lack of one to affect my game...
-It can be a money sucker, almost as bad as an autococker. See, I'm a tinkerer, and somehow I always get this craving to slap whatever aftermarket parts I can get onto my little darlin' and see what happens... |
