The Team

The team consists of seven personnel in total, 4 Pilots and a ground crew of 3. Two of the pilots come from the Royal Air Force, and are members of the Royal Air Force Microlight Flying Association.

The remainder of the crew come from the Royal Irish Regiment. Three of the pilots will join the expedition for up to a month at a time, sharing the flying and research duties with the Expedition Leader.

The ground crew will support and assist the research work and act as safety backup during the final stages of the flight to the Arctic Ocean.
