AFS Intercultural Programs- USA

Dear Scholarship Recipient:

Congratulations! We are pleased to inform you that you have been awarded a scholarship provided by The Bernard Osher Foundation.

On acceptance of this scholarship we request that you send three letters to The Bernard Osher Foundation. Many students benefit each year from AFS donors. These donors support scholarships because they want students to have the opportunity to participate in an AFS program, and they are interested in hearing from you about your experiences and impressions.

The first piece of correspondence should be a thank you note sent within two weeks of your receipt of this letter. Thank you notes are extremely important and we appreciate your timely response. The second correspondence is a postcard from your host country to the Bernard Osher Foundation, once you are settled in your new "home".

Near the end of your stay, please send a letter describing your AFS experience to The Bernard Osher Foundation. We do not intend these correspondences to be work - make them fun! The Bernard Osher Foundation will appreciate hearing from you and I'll get to hear how you're doing, too.

Envelopes are enclosed. All correspondence should be sent to me in the New York office and I will make sure your letters get to The Bernard Osher Foundation. Please do not hesitate to contact me or an AFS Field Office if you have any questions. I can be reached at (xxx-xxx-xxxx, extension xxx.

Thanks again and have a great time!

Sincerely,
