Fuselage Stringers

Fuselage stringers are fabricated from aluminum tubing with smaller diameter tubing cross members.  Structural epoxy adhesive is used to secure the stringers.  I used maroon colored scotch brite pads to take the polish off of the powder coating and also to shine up the aluminum tubing.  I also used denatured alcohol to clean the surfaces prior to bonding with adhesive. Below are pictures of the fuselage stringer installation.

Excess epoxy can be cleaned up with the denatured alcohol.  The cross braces are also secured to the fuselage with safety wire.  A file works well to shape the ends of the aluminum tube so that it fits well into the fuselage joint.
