JAWBONE CANYON STORE
These are pictures of the Jawbone Store before and after the fire. It was there for many years. It was a favorite water hole and pit stop. They carried a little of everything from drinks, food, and bike parts. It all ended December 14, 1998 when an electrical fire caused it to burn down. In front of the store were old theater seats and misters to spray on you while you sat there in the desert heat. On the ceiling of the porch were lots of broken bike parts from some crashes and breakdowns that riders had over the years. The people that worked there were rather interesting to talk to also.

The latest word from the rangers at the Jawbone Station is that a new store and possibly a restaurant will start construction in the fall of 2000.
