DIRT CIRCUIT ROUND 1:
Amateur Contest, Columbus Ohio

December 30, 1998, the jumping world's amateurs had their chance to show their jumping skills. 68 kids entered, every one of them with BMX in their heart, you could tell by watching them pedal full speed at the big six pack. There were big tricks pulled, even though they were labeled amateurs. Daniel P'simer pulled a sick 360 X-up, and big turndown. My good friend Jimmy Kleoudis pulled the biggest transfer of the contest, transferring from the second face going straight, to the second left hip's downside, landed smooth, and then did a big one-footed x-up. Mike Roush did a cool table top run, and a big turndown to near re-injury, remember he did that w/ a broken collar bone. I pulled an X-up and a no-footer. All an all, it was very fun watching people get some well deserved coverage. Stayed tuned for the next comp.
