In 1946 begun to study Aikido under the instruction of O' Sensei Morihei Uyeshiba, being only 18 years old. He studied more then 23 years as an uchi - deshi of O' Sensei at Iwama. After the death of Morihey Uyeshiba in 1969 he remained to be the head of the Ibaraki Dojo and "guardian" of the Aiki Shrine. Saito Sensei currently holds the rank of 9th Dan and more then 50 years of practice and experience. He continues to practice the Aikido the founder taught without changing it in any way. He is preserving and teching in Iwama and around the world in different countries. In this he is unique, since other senseis are developing their own stile. He is the author of more then 10 books on Aikido (Traditional Aikido 5 Vol. series; Takemusu Aikido 4.vol series). He also made some video cassets to explaine Aikido. |
