From it humble roots as an underground event held in secret locations, the UFT has evolved into one of South America's most popular extreme sports.
Known for its brutal no rules concept, the UFT has made many experienced Vale Tudo fighters from places like Brazil and Portugal quit before they enter the ring.
The first official UFT was held in 1996 at , Bolivia. The victor was the enigmatic Francisco "The Duck" Gonzales in what many still say was the bloodiest event they ever witnessed.
UFT (Ultimate Fighting Tournament)now takes place 3 times a year(March, July, December).
There have been 8 UFT's with the 9th taking place this December.
The UFT takes place in Punta Del Este, Uruguay(Famous for its' casinos)because it is considered so brutal that it isn't sanctioned in any other country or by the MMAC.
