MACHINE HEAD - THE MORE THINGS CHANGE (8.7 on the Richter Scale)
No one ever thought it was possible to live up to the expectations of their debut album, but the boys have proved everyone wrong, releasing yet another killer record. 'The More Things Change' touches on some more personal issues on tracks such as 'Struck a Nerve', 'Bay of Pigs' and 'Violate'. If it were possible, the album seems even heavier than the previous and appears to be faster making for the most brutal album of '97. Just like with 'Burn My Eyes', there are a couple of different versions around, with the Digi-pak being the one to go for as it contains some excellent bonuses. These include a re-done version of 'My Misery' (from the Demon Knight soundtrack), and an awesome cover of Discharge's 'The Possibility of Lifes Destruction'.
