Top Of the World: The Second Coming

This video was made top quality and is amazing. These are all local riders except for a Montreal rider and Casey if you count him as a Montreal'er. This video features the likes of Wade Des Ormeaux, Joe Buffalo, Dave Miskovich, Dylan Cousineau, Casey McDonald, Scott Furkay, Norm Shanks, Louis Phillip, and that's just off the top of my head. This video has been out since mid-October, for $20 and comes with a bunch of Top 'O stickers. I've skated with most of these guys and they rip, trust me. Scott Furkay is first and has an amazing part, he's 15 and in Montreal right now. Casey has a wicked part once again, high speed, good thrills. Wade and Dylan are the little technicians of the team. Miskovich has some wicked stairs parts. Well, JUST BUY THE VIDEO. Support your local store and skaters!

411 Video Magazine: Issue 30

This issue was real phat! The contents are amazing. I enjoyed Flip Ams, DC Eurosupertour, and the Blind Canada tour. The profile was on Geoff Rowley, which was good. A day in the life of Ed Templeton, check the gnarly gash in his leg. Rookie Chad Bartie. Wheels of fortune on James Craig. Euro '98 contest preview, pretty good. The two road trips already mentioned. Industry was Alien Workshop and the Flip. Check out Ali Boulala's crash at the end, watch his arm. And finally two world reports on Sweden and Switzerland.

411 Video Magazine: Issue 29

I liked this issue a bit more than issue 28. My favorite parts were the Slam City jam coverage, Tum Yeto Canada, and Es Europe. The profile was on Jim Gagne. Wheels of fortune were Greg Harris and Will Harmon. Road trip was Volcom and the others mentioned. Contests was Panama City Vans Triple Crown and Slam City Jam. Finally in the industry S-One Insoles, and Furnace Skate Shop. Watch for the Transit ad with Stacy Lowery, it's nasty.

411 Video Magazine: Issue 28

This issue is pretty good, my favorite parts were the A-Team road trip and the profile on Mathias Ringstrom. In this issue the wheels of fortune are Kenny Reed, John Lee, and Evan Schiefelbine. Rookies were Gideon Choi, Dorian Tucker, and Joe Pino. Road trips were A-Team and the Australia trip. Contests were Tampa pro street and vert, and Charleston Am street. The industry was Network 17 skateboard supply. And finally the spot check was the San Francisco barriers.

Transworld Skateboard: Trick Tips with Willy Santos

If you are looking to learn tricks that are a little more harder then the basics, well there is your video. This video also comes with a handy booklet version, so you can bring it everywhere you skate. The booklet is good, with sequences to illustrate each trick well. This video is hosted by the one and only Willy Santos. Some tricks on this video are shove-it kickflip, 360 kickflip, f/s 180 kickflip, b/s 180 kickflip, f/s & b/s 180 heelflip, f/s & b/s ollie, ollie impossible, f/s & b/s 5-0, f/s smith grind, feeble grind, k-grind, f/s & b/s nosegrind, f/s & b/s lipslide, and finally f/s & b/s noseslide. This video was filmed well. It runs for roughly $30 canadian dollars.

Top Of The World: Chronic. Als

If you aren't from Ottawa, or near it, you won't be able to get a copy of this great skate video. Cause Top Of The World is an Ottawa based skate shop. This video features many of the store's sponsered skaters, such as Casey McDonald, Joe Buffalo and many more. I skate with Joe and he goes so BIG! He must, well be crazy. This video has great footage of local skaters, and you'll probably recognize most of the spots. There's plenty of contest footage, and footage of some pro skaters at last year's Ramp Rage in Tazmahall in Montreal. I think this video is a great one. And it's a cheap one too, pricewise. It's only $15.00, tax included. So run downtown and grab yourself a copy at Top'o

Pig Wheels: All Systems Go!

I just recently got this video, and I'm pleased with it. This video contains all street skating, no vert found here. This video has some of the best street skaters out there. This movie stars, Vinnie Ponte, Satva Leung, Pat Channita, Chad Knight, Brad Staba, Jerry Fowler, Micah Mattson, Jason Adams, Matt Hensley, and much much more! Just knowing these skaters are in it pretty much already makes it good. All Systems Go! is about half an hour long, something around those lines. It's all punk music. There's some pretty nasty bails in this video, but not a whole lot. The cost, $26 Canadian.

Shorty's Hardware Team Video

I just got this video the other day, so I've only watched it twice. It's a good movie, lots of variety. There's lots of street and vert skating for your viewing pleasure. There's many young people on this team, such as, Brandon Turner, Sammy Baptista, Jesse Silvey, and Toan Nguyen. There's lots of your faves too, The Muska, Tyrone Olson, Sluggo, Ronny Creager, Rune Glifberg, and many more! This video is about 25 minutes long or so. Lots of the spots in this video are seen again in the video many times. But, nether the less, it's still good skating. The music in this movie is quite snazzy and funky. This movie costs about $36 Canadian.

Transworld Skateboarding: Interface

This is Transworld's fifth video made. There's two montages, and a 16mm montage also. The other parts in the video are sections for Chad Fenandez, Stephane Laurence, Bob Burnquist, Dan Rogers, Chany Jeanguenin, Richard Angelides, Steve Berra, Heath Kirchart, and Keith Huffnagel. There's cameos from Pat Duffy, Chet Thomas, Max Dufour, Caine Gayle, Geoff Rowley, Andrew Reynolds, Jeremy Wray, Satva Leung, and a whole lots more, and I mean a lot more! The filming quality on this video was extemely good I must say. The music variety was also good too. There was some good beats from a bit of hip hop, punk, and really cool Brazilian music for the Bob Burnquist section. This movie was pretty amazing. The cost was around, $26 Candian.

411: Europe '97

Now this video has to be one of my favorites. This video has all the best pro's in the world. This is basically all the coverage of all the major contests in Europe during the summer. There's lots of wicked skaters like, Eric Koston, Rune Glifberg, Tony Hawk, Mike Valley, Brian Patch, and more. There's street courses, vert, and even mini vert for your visual stimulation. This video is around half an hour, can't remember. This movie costs $24 Canadian.

Transworld Skateboarding: Starting Point

This video is hosted and done by Jeremy Wray. This is a video for the beginner, it's all the basic tricks you need to know to build a good foundation. There's a little bit of beginner vert in it also. There's a little pocket guide book for all the tricks in the video. So you can carry it around and refer to it if you have trouble. There's really really cool and good filming techniques in this video. For instance, when Jeremy performs a trick after the explanation, he holds the camera, and films his feet. That way you get a birds eye view of his feet, so you can learn how to do it easier. It's also played in slow motion. This is a good video that I strongly recommend for newbies to skating. The cost was about $24 Canadian.

Skate Canada Video Magazine: Issue One

This video shows what great talent we have up here in Canada. It's mostly ams, but it's still good quality skating. This issue features Montreal, Syd Clark, New BC Parks, and some Cross Canada filming. This is the first issue of it's kind. I must say, watch out 411, Skate Canada's here! The video is 35 minutes long. A note is that Rick McCrank is in this video with nice skating. This video cost about $25 Canadian.
