There is a family we know and love very much who were down on there luck that year and we were told there would be no Christmas for them. Not much else either because their lights and gas had been turned off due to non-payment and they had lost there jobs due to downsizing. This family also had 3 children and one on the way. They were afraid Santa would not come, this would not go over well. My husband being the most giving and charitable man I know, decided Santa would come. We did was what any caring person would do, we bought them Christmas for all three children and the parents just in case Santa didn't show, as well as Christmas dinner. We had the lights and gas turned back on. They were so happy and we ourselves where happy and filled with joy. After all this is the true meaning of Christmas isnt it ?? Well yes it is...!
On Christmas Eve after all the stores had closed we settled into the evening visiting with close family members, having a great time. After the children went to bed, my family, my husband and I knew it was time to put the gifts they and ourselves had gotten for the kids under the tree. My husband and I then realized we had only bought two presents for our own two children, but everything was going to be ok because the kids got a few nice gifts, and were so pleased that their friends had a nice Christmas. This taught us and our children what Christmas is really about. This event brought about a new Hart Family Tradition, and we call it "The Hart's Family Santa Stop".
