The truth is I have never been much of a Christmas person... My family is split up in different parts of the U.S. My oldest brother's death two years ago really set me back... I always get the blahs around this time and almost dread Christmas each year... this one is no different. I'm not a real religious person... don't go to church... but just to show you I think someone is watching over us... I tell you this...
Yesterday I went to the Wal-mart to get some automotive items, trying to stay far away from the Christmas madness. I found what I needed, turned to leave and there stood a little old man, no bigger than a minute with a face to warm the heart. He asked if I knew where the little bulbs for christmas lights were, so I pointed him in the direction of the madness and started to go on my way. He grabbed my arm and said, "Mind showing me, I don't see so good". I walked him to the christmas section, but like I said, I stay away from there if at all possibile. A clerk came by and I asked her if she could show us where the bulbs were. She took us and pointed them out.
The old man told me his wife had died several years earlier and he had not turned on a christmas light since, but this year he was gonna light up the heavens! I put a hand on his shoulder and he smiled. He said "How much are these?" I didn't know but told him I would ask, so I turned, walked maybe 5 or 6 steps, stuck my head around the corner and asked the clerk. I turned to tell him but he was gone. Stunned I searched the christmas section, row by row and even asked people that were shopping if they seen him...no one had seen a little old man. I'm feeling a little more in the "Spirit" now and have a memory I will never forget!
Sorry, I had to tell this to you guys... sorta felt like that little old man would want me to... I am sorta proud it happened to me...
