"Remembering"
Fresh earth is steaming,
And rain water streaming,
Of flowers I'm dreaming.
So there's planting of seeds,
And cultivation needs
For discouraging weeds.
It's grey today - I miss my Dad.
With humming birds humming,
And woodpeckers drumming,
Spring finals upcoming.
The cattle are calfing,
And deli's re-staffing,
Hear grandchildren laughing?
It's grey today - I miss my Lynn.
Horseshoes to be pitching,
And woodticks cause itching,
To summer we're switching.
It's picnics I'm thinking,
So coffee we're drinking
While the lazy sun's sinking.
It's grey today - I miss my Lew.
