COUSINS
Everyday I find more cousins
Seems they come by the dozens
Everyone of them from a new place
In my heart they now take space.
We look for ancestors who once were here
And we hold each of them very dear
Some were farmers, some politicians
Some teachers and some physicians.
From across the big waters they all came
A virgin land to settle and to claim
A log home with hearth and fire
And children whom we all admire.
From these folks of long ago
We get the cousins that we know
Each with different means and way
Wonder who I'll find today.
