If I Could, You Know I Would
If I could, you know I would.
Would it matter anyway?
You're there, I'm here. You're so far away.
If I could tell you that you mean so much to me.
If I could, you know I would. Would it matter, anyway?
I know it would , if I could, live over every day;
That you would not have to be so far away;
But then, (I think with my mind and not a heart of pain;)
That every child needs awhile to see a dad that could be.
We all need chances to make a change and try a different way;
So when I start to hear these words, I may cry in pain;
But, 'If I coulds' and 'know you woulds', won't make a difference, anyway;
But these words will,
"I love you still,
And always will forever and a day"
