Been a fan since the seventies, and really miss the live shows with the Jewboys, and the stories about the 'Yom Kippur Clippers, and Menorah cowboy shirts. Pearls in the snow is a great album all the cuts are beautiful. Delbert's singing, and the instrume tal is truly awesome.

Howdy Kinky, I just heard you on the Imus show this morning (4/28/99) and I thought you were hilarious. I am sorry to hear you graduated from T.U. though. I have a sister there to much my family's dismay. The rest of us are Baylor Bears and Aggies. I was born and aised in Sugarland, TX but I am now living in L.A. I hope to soon move back home. In any case, would you send a schedule of your concert dates in the U.S. Stay well and keep the Lone Star beer cold for me.

Kinky, Just to keep your site on the straight and narrow I have to add a word or two. Abbie Hoffman was not a thief. Kinky knows that Abbie's own book was titled ``Steal This Book'' -- but maybe some people don't. Anyway, that's why it was so funny when he stole my book. But -- to be painfully honest -- he gave it right back!

I'm just reading ``Blast from the Past.'' So many mysteries are now solved -- as in, why a Negro puppet head. By the way, I once appeared on tv with Abbie Hoffman when I was touting a book I wrote. Guess what? He STOLE MY BOOK. Great guy, and I'm sorry he's gone. Kinkstah, you are a fine and very funny writer. Even though I hate country, I may be forced to listen to some of your Texas Jew Boy music. Did you really write a song called ``They Don't Make Jews Like Jesus Anymore.?'' God!

Dear Mr. Kinkster, I'm the guy that sold you the herringbone Martin- Is that the one that got smashed on the trip to Australia? I have to confess that I've never heard any of your stuff, but checking over the comments about your new album convinces me that it's probably bent enough to attract even me.-and I really dug the book you gave me, "Armadillos and Old Lace". I stopped listening to country music when the man in the Cadillac assumed room temperature- oh , there were a few things I liked, most of the really old bluegrass, Ralph Stanley, Bill Monroe- and Viva Terlingua! That cut, "Deperados waiting for a Train" was as emotionally affecting as anything Hiram ever wrote. Hear you're chess player- I've played quite a bit of chess and it all started in the forth grade. My best friend got a chess set and learned the moves from the Britainica, and before you know it,half of the kids in the lower grades of Ingram Elemente y were playing chess at lunch on the tables of the cafeteria! Like your web page! Peace, and keep on strumming....Doss

Well, at least I now know why I can't find Musical Chairs! I've read all the rest (well, I just started BFTP) and can honestly say there is no other author that keeps me as entertained as the Kinkster. I've also been known to play some of the old songs on the guitar, since the religious conotations really piss of my jewish mother-in-law, thereby becoming one of the great pleasures in my life. Back to the matter at hand, If anyone has an extra copy of Musical Chairs they can part with, please fire a message my way. Thanks

Hey Kinky, you and your friends sure put on a fine show at La Zona Rosa Wed. night ... and Thursday morning at the Bonefit concert. The biggest thrill for me was that you actually remembered me this time! The 6th time is the charm

I was working at a television station in the late 60's and early 70's the first time I ever heard of "Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys". At the time I thought to myself, "If he can't sing or play a lick, he's at least got the best sense of humor in A erica." And you still got it. Dry, acerbic wit, without an ounce of self importance. Too damn bad you are an absolute original. We need a few more out there like you. Instead we get Al Gore. Shit!

As a recent convert, I was dismayed to find that less than half your novels are still in print. I was further dismayed by the asking price of used copies. Did you know that, in some places, a copy of Musical Chairs is going for $279.00?

The man with the suttle laugh, and oversized cigar is one of America's true treasures. Kinkman has shown himself to be a brilliant song,as well as story writer. My hat is off to his ever flowing witt, and wisdom sown tightly up with the well earned respec of so many of us out here in the semi-suto world of readers.
