The first bales piled on the flooring. Note the perimeter rim of 2 x 4's which will support the bales.

This platform protects the lowest bales from moisture - burst pipes, leaks, whatever.

The rough opening frame for one of the sliding glass doors.

Now things are starting to look like a straw bale cabin may grow here!
At the top of the 3rd course of bales, a "L" shaped plywood plate with 3 holes drilled in it is placed over the corners.
Rebar is pounded through the plywood and down through the bales below it to the bottom level. This will be repeated 2 more courses up, and at the top. The purpose is to stabilize the walls.
