Zachyrsia provisoria

Zachyrsia provisoria**Zachyrsia provisoria**
Family Camaenidae
A Cuban introduction, now common in S. Florida. They have a fairly thick shell and seem to prefer leaf litter to fresh greens, although they will eat just about anything. Once established in an area, they can become just as much of a pest as Helix aspersa. This picture is of two shells that have been a bit weathered and have started peeling (showing the white part of the shell).
