This is the only picture you will ever see of me. I hate having my picture took. That's why I carry cameras with me so I'm always behind the shutter. I am the one sitting down. Terrie L.

Lisa Lemig with Jenny (minpin) & Charlie (Italian Greyhound)

Hi,

My name is Lisa Lemig. I live in a town a few miles from the ocean in central New Jersey. I am 33 years old and I am a mail carrier in a small town called Monmouth Beach,10 miles from my home, right on the coast. I will be there 13 years the end of September and have had the same route for 9 years last April.

I'm single and still live at home with my mother,(I'm not stupid, who needs marriage), who was widowed when I was 4 years old. My brother and sister are 17 and 16 years older than me. Therefore, my mother is a bit older than most people my age. My great nephew(my sister's first boy's first)just turned one., My boyfriend Lou and I have been together 11 years and him being divorced with 2 kids,he's in no hurry to get married. It's the perfect setup.

In my spare time I like to read Native American romance novels, spend time with the dogs, doing different activities, read my Min Pin Talk mail, and do things with my boyfried. Not necessarily in that order. Round about the summer of '92, I was really pressing mom to let me get a dog. I am ashamed to say,I fell in love with the cutest little puppy in my local pet store. I knew puppy mills were bad, but didn't know the extent of it. I also knew that most pet store puppies came from mills, but the owner assured me that wasn't the case with his puppies.(I tend to be a gullible idiot some times)I believed him and was just anxious to bring home my new baby, whom I named Jenny. I knew nothing about the breed. I just wanted a small shorthaired dog. She was such a joy to train and all. Not knowing too much about things, I didn't get her out enough and to this day, she remains people shy and a little bit dog aggressive, especially bigger dogs. Due to that fact, she became a pampered house dog and we didn't go to any shows. We went through several obedience classes, and she was always the cutest and smartest dog in class. Round about the summer of '94, I started getting that craving again. "Mooomm, can we get another dog? I heard about these really cute small miniature Greyhounds." Enter Charlie, who I got from a top breeder in North Jersey,at 10 1/2 weeks old.Little did we know he would grow to a 18" high,17 lb. little horse. Not knowing about puppy K with Jenny, I took Charlie through that class, and he's been in one class or another ever since. We've been a member of a local dog club for 5 years.I've done obedience showing with Charlie, which he did terrible at. Now we are in agility class, and he is a most lovable Therapy dog, bringing joy and smiles wherever we go. Both dogs have their CGC title. That's our story. I hope I didn't bore anyone to death.

Mary!! ([email protected])With Cocoa & Charlie.

I was born and raised in the Detroit area. I've been married for almost 32 years. My husband, Carl, is a Detroit police officer. We've know each other forever, since he was 9 years old.

We have two daughters. Beth is 28 and Dawn is 25. Dawn is a single parent of a handsome 3 year old boy named Carl, C. J. for short. Dawn and C. J. live with us, which makes life very interesting.

I taught Computer Skills to children Kindergarten through 8th grade for about 11 years, until C. J. was born. I retired to help take care of him for the first year of his life.

When my grandson went to pre-school, I decided to continue staying home and grew to love my computer and my MinPinTalk List. I have made some wonderful friends and learned so many things about my 2 pets. Carl has always loved dogs, but I haven't really "loved" dogs until we got Cocoa and then Charlie. Once a minpin comes into your life, you'll be hooked forever.

As I have said in a past email, although born and bred in Bombay....and educated here with a bachelors degree in Commerce and Economics, the Parsees as we are called here in India, came to India, hundreds of years ago from Iran when Mohammed the Prophet was persecuting the Zoroastrians (ever heard of them?)to try and convert them to Islam.

In the history of religions,Zoroastrianism is considered to be one of the oldest religions known to mankind.....even before the era of the Vedas and the Hindus which comprise the bulk of the Indian population.

They set sail fron Iran and landed up on the west coast of India and were allowed to enter the country on the premise that they do not intermarry with the locals. Even till today, the majority of Parsees, as we are called here as we came from the province of Pars in Iran, generally do not marry outside the religionfor various reasons.

So like the minpins, we are considered to be a highly inbred lot full of habitual quirks, supposed to be full of honour, integrity and honesty. (I like this part, but historically this is true) So the British when they came to India to rule, favoured the Parsees for these inherent qualities and gave them key posts in the running of the country.

The Zoroastrians for their part, because most of us are fair skinned as compared to the average Indian having our forefathers from Iran, started believing they WERE the British!!!(not quite, but almost!) And even when the British left the country after India gained Independence, continued in the glorification of the traditions left behind....and we are most western in our habits, tend to be highly educated and hold key positions, not in the government but in industry, finance and banking and other corporations.

So to end my historical discourse ,which by now I hope you have not trashed.

I came to the States in 1977 and went to California, first to San Diego where I completed my Bachelors degree in Business at SDSU and then went on to do my MBA at the Claremont Graduate School. The reason for choosing California is that my dad's brother lives in Redlands and my cousins all in San Diego.....for the past 25 years !! Now all married to Americans!!!! In fact after my short stay in America, where I spent the BEST years of my life as a student, I have lots of old roommates and flatmates whom I regularly stay with when visiting America.......and secretly consider myself American!!

Cathy Beasley !!

About Cathy Beasley & "Shadowmist":

I've had dogs just about all my life. My first show dog was a silver Toy Poodle named Misty. My High School graduation money bought her. She was from the famous line of silvers called Sassafrass. Me and my best friend tried to come up with a kennel name that hadn't been used before. I knew I wanted to name my poodle Misty - so Mist had to be part of the name. We came up with Shadowmist! She was too small to breed however, so I purchased a black Miniature Poodle. I had a few litters but never finished one Poodle! At least I learned how to groom in the process and shortly after graduation, I started grooming at a large kennel in Louisville. I learned a lot about the "right" way to groom many different breeds. While there I got into Norwegian Elkhounds - I did finish several of them and had some that won Regional Specialties. This years Westminster winner was a granddog of one of my dogs that I bred years ago - I was very proud that someone continued where I left off! I married an Army man in 1982 and the Elkies had to go as we could be called to Germany at any time. It was very traumatic letting them go one by one. The only dog he would "allow" me to have was something small that could be shipped overseas under the seat- hence my first encounter with Min Pins!! We divorced only a 1 1/2 years later, but the Min Pin stayed and soon multiplied - the rest is history! I've shown and bred Min Pins since '82 and have finished many dogs to their championships. Some are Group and Specialty winners. I'm very proud of my hard work with this wonderful breed - the Miniature Pinscher!

I work for the US Postal service as a General Clerk in the Postmaster's Office in Louisville, KY. I've got 21 years "under my belt" and dream of the day I can retire and buy that motor home I've always wanted and "hit the road" to dog shows all over the US and Canada! It's very rewarding meeting people from all walks of life and having friends all over the world. Showing dogs is a lot of fun and I hope I never tire of it!

My name is Janet O'Brien and I live in Aurora, CO. I am 39 and have two great boys. Terry is 18 and a Senior in High School. Christopher (my baby) is 16 and a Junior. I have been married to the same wonderful man for 20 years.

I am a Senior Design Analyst with a software company. I have been with this company for 10 years and have done a little bit of everything, from Customer Service and Technical Support, Training, Managing and now designing reports for our new Windows product.

My favorite things: Spending time with my family Scuba Diving (I am a certified diver and Dive Master) Counted cross stitch Reading - particularly mystery, some Sci-Fi, and Fantasy.

We are all owned by our beautiful little Black/Rust girl MinPin, named Pepper. Pepper was born on October 15, 1997 and we adopted her on December 21, 1997.

Pepper's favorite things: Napping on laps. Sleeping under covers. Licking our ears until they are very clean! Interrupting any activity which does not revolve around her. Chasing and eating ice cubes. Begging for any kind of food. Playing catch with her favorite plush ball toy. Snuggling on my husband's lap while he is working on his computer. Making funny noises while getting ears scratched and tummy rubbed. Quarreling with us endlessly when something doesn't go her way! And finally, (but not the end) pouncing and attacking our other dog (my son's dog actually) - a 4 month old cocker spaniel.

Pepper's least favorite things: Being corrected by my husband. Being told no. Being left behind. Being visited by strangers. Sharing "her humans" with Fergus (our cocker spaniel).

Sandra C., Lavender, and Allstar.
I'm Sandra Carbonell and our family is controlled by these two minpins, Lavender and Allstar. We live in Springfield, Illinois, and we've had Lavender since she was a tiny puppy. Lavender has done a good job breaking us in as minpin parents. Although Allstar is a few months older than Lavender, Allstar just came to live with us in December 1998. Allstar and Lavender have became best friends ever; they run and play together, growl and fight over toys, and then cuddle together as well.

Lyn

([email protected])

Hi. My name is Lyn Asio and I live in Sunny Southern California. I am not a native Californian. I was born in the Philippines on a beautiful April Fool's Day in the year 1968. I came to the United States on April 15, 1982, where my family and I resided in San Francisco with my Grandfather and my Aunt Edel. We moved to Vallejo, California, in Thanksgiving of 1987. My parents still live in Vallejo; however, I moved to Placentia, California (Southern), because of both work and potential school.
I have two younger sisters, Monette, and Nanette. We have grown to be best of friends, although we did have plenty of disagreements at a young age - - - just ask 'em!

I am a Lead Person for a small division of the Department of Industrial Relations within the State of California. In a nut shell, I do everything and do nothing.

My hobbies include: computers (could you tell???), playing the piano, collecting books on mythology (I started this recently) and folklore and music, crocheting, growing roses (used to with my parents, unfortunately I don't have a yard now but I still visit them and take care of my 30 rose bushes there). I suppose you can call me a body-builder. I originally started weight-lifting in July, 1995, to gain weight. I started with 2-pound dumbbells, believe it or not, but I can lift up to 85 pounds!

My interests include:
1. Jokes. I love to laugh, even at myself. I have been called a "woman of a thousand faces."
2. One could call me a perfectionist at work. My favorite saying is: If something is done well enough, even I would leave it alone.
3. Architecture. I have helped several friends design a house both by using the computer and by doing it manually.
4. Interior decorating. I like contemporary (but not ultra-contemporary) style. I love sub-zero refrigerators and kitchen islands with mini-refrigerators!
5. Plants. I'm trying to expand my knowledge of plants in general. I started with roses and now am trying to find more about bulbs. Anyone who knows plenty about plants, please, please, please contact me!
6. Football. I LOVE THE 49ers!
7. Car racing. . . go JEFF GORDON!
8. Basketball . . . go LAKERS!

I love:
1. MY MINPIN BABY, LANCER!
2. To eat. I love all ethnic food and am willing to try anything (except for monkey brain).
3. Meeting people, either in person or via the internet.
4. Chatting with my sisters online!

I am owned by a cute black and rust miniature pinscher, Lancer. Soon, by Strabos, a male stag red! My life actually revolves around my baby no matter how busy I am. Lancer is Mr. Personality and has been the love of my life since I got him on April 23, 1998.

Hi All, I'm Terri and "This is My Life"

I have lived in IL all my life born and raised in Danville, graduated from Danville High in 1984. In High School I studied the Violin and classical music and the hard work paid off when in June of 84 I was asked to tour Europe with a string group. Upon my return from Europe I met Mark and we were married in Oct. of 85.

Mark and I are raising our two sons, Greg 12 and Tommy 9 in a small farming community, Fisher, IL. We stay very active in the boys activities; Baseball, and scouting. I became the commitee Pack Chairman of Fisher Troop 172 just this past Jan. So I've had to add these duties to already being a Den Leader.

Besides my MinPins (K.C., Keegan) our family is graced with our Collie, Sissy and three cats, Smokey , Boston & Maggie.

My Hobbies are: Playing my violin, Photography, of course the internet; the MinPinTalk list and web page building. Drawing, fishing, and scouting. Not to mention whatever else I decide to give a try.

My likes are simple, Spring Days, kids laughing, a good movie, walking the dogs, and FOOD.

My dislikes....thats a rough one. Cooking, short tempered people, and cleaning (Not always in that order)
